03 X Type - Double din head unit?
Just bought my first jag.
Just signed up for the forum, hi!
Just started looking into aftermarket head units.
Just realized it might not be as easy as I thought.
I've read the posts saying that you're limited to 6.75-7.00 inches of space, right? Stupid air duct! -_-
I'm really just looking for a media player though. Just don't have a need for CDs or DVDs anymore.
So, my question is, how much of a pain in the *** is it to install a shallow 3.00-6.00 inch media player?
Any help would be much appreciated!!!! <3

If you have the cassette version, these are an option for an mp3 player

Being through the same issue myself recently the expensive way.
Units I know to be compatible:
Kenwood DPX405BT (you do have to modify the heatsink slightly) - had installed previously
Asteroid Parrot Smart - had installed previously
Alpine INE-W997D - currently installed
Alpine ILX-700 - Alpine customer services confirmed to fit.
Unit I know don't fit:
Kenwood DNX5170DABS - brought and tried but too deep
The limit is at the top of the stereo of about 6" depth, at the bottom you have about 7.5"
