[QUOTE=genec;1652745]I think it actually looks better in person. Could be my photography skills (or lack there of...)[QUOTE]
Hey genec, have you tried a clay bar on her? I did mine about 3 months ago and I find the colors are better and she is so silky smooth without all those nasty sediments on her. Perhaps that will help those photography skills? Still a nice looking ride though.

I bought a 2004 XJ8 last year so the silver one has been neglected lately. It's had the known transmission problem (slams into first gear from a stop unless you're really easy with it) for about 3 years. Was still my daily driver 'till I bought the '04, but now I'm having issues with it as well . The dredded "DSC-PBrake-etc N/A" messages. But no "Restricted Performance" .
Anyway, the '01 has been basically stored in the street for over a year and really needs a good cleanup. I need to sell it but it's just not worth anything. A rebuilt tranny is $2500 minimum. And, it's been going through ignition coils again. Think I've got that sorted out though as it's running really well again. But to be quite honest, I think I like it more then the '04! What to do, what to do. In the mean time, I've been driving my old 1972 Mercedes 450 sl a lot more lately.
Maybe I'll take a clay bar to the '01 if I ever get around to cleaning it up. But I doubt it will have any effect on my photography skills!
I agree it is a very nice looking car. I've only added the XJ6 wheels, rear spoiler and an Alpine after-market stereo (with Kenwood amp, Pioneer mid-bass and Clarion tweeters-need a subwoofer, though) but it's just enough to add that personal touch.

Bumping this thread up! Replaced a suspect looking tstat tower bypass hose, and tightened up the leaking tstat housing cap(it was loose very), aluminum housing. Took the car for a quick spin to look for any possible leaks. None so far! And snapped some quick pics on this very nice sunset. Hope you all enjoy.
