Default Interior trunk release button backlight

Having my friend's car for some days, I noticed I missed one back-light in my own interior when I replaced all bulbs.

But how can I remove this unit, is it a matter of pulling harder, or do I miss something?

It does pop out, you can reach it easier by removing the coin tray and pushing it from behind. Be aware that the interior temperature sensor is attached to this by a rubber tube which can be troublesome to refit, and the plug(s) attached to the switch have very little travel so you're best removing them via the coin tray hole. The coin tray is held in by a single Phillips screw. Use the opportunity to clean the temperature sensor too, it looks like a MAF sensor.

The bulb is the same as in all the other switches.

Thanks Stu.
Of course you should have reacted an hour earlier, but I forgive you
Seriously, thanks, nice little project for tomorrow's rainy Sunday.

EDIT: The removal of the coin tray did the trick, and one can actually just slide the button part out, that leaves the interior temp sensor in place (which is working fine for me).
Muchas Gracias Again!

No bother Eric, I like the easy ones The coin tray I've never used for coins, I normally keep a microfibre duster in there for the interior.

The UK cars have an additional switch in that area for the headlight levelling.

The usual dash fitting (the larger of the 2 used all around your car), available from Jaguar and some Jaguar part suppliers, not cheap though.

I managed to find the bulbs in the right wattage, and make them myself, using the plastic fitting.
Works like a charm.

As mentioned, I missed this one initially.
All other switches and buttons have back-light, besides of the mirror selection switch on the driver-door, and the steering wheel buttons.

I just replaced the bulb in the trunk switch with two different known good bulbs, but mine never lights ups. Can anyone confirm that their trunk switch actually lights up.

That base should be ok, but I am not sure on the wattage / intensity, as mentioned, I went the replacement bulb-way.

Man you truly know something's over engineered when tasks as trivial as changing vanity bulbs takes vast research lol. I had to go through 3 vintage Jag parts' dealers to confirm what bulbs the driver's side switch pack took. Finally got to the bottom of it though.

X308 never a dull task lol !
