Default Plastic Coolant Pipe Failure?

I had the F Type in the dealer to address over-fill oil level. While there, I was meandering about and saw a 3.0 in box. I was told that this dealership has had 2 recent catastrophic overheating events which ruined the engines. They were replaced under warranty. According to the dealer, the preventative "fix" is to replace a plastic coolant pipe with aluminum.

The engines that failed were not in F-Types but I'm advised that it was 3.0 supercharged and that the F-Type has the same plastic pipe. I asked if there is a TSB out on this and they said no. I can't believe that! Do any of you fellows know if a TSB is out on this? I don't know if it is the 340 or 380-hp engine. Thanks in advance for checking.

It's the same engine, whether 340 or 380. It's all in the tune.

I remember someone here reporting a plastic coolant hose splitting, but I don't recall who, or how catastrophic the outcome was.

The plastic coolant pieces on my 02 XK8 were giving up starting in about 2014. Both generalized failures and an inability to withstand the stress of maintenance. "Maintenance induced failures" But I would think the current Supercharged V6 isn't old enough in any model to be experiencing age related failures. Interesting.

XKR owners, that share a lot of hardware with F-type but are couple years older, report A LOT of coolant plastic failures.

I am curious if F-type reports low coolant. Anyone knows?

Do you know if there is TSB or part number?

Lots of threads and posts about this issue over on the XF forum, mainly about the 5.0 V8 rather than the 3.0 V6, although both use the same cross-over pipe.
The early V8s and V6s used an alloy pipe then for some unknown reason (probably to save a few cents) around 2012/2013 JLR switched to a plastic pipe.
The difference is very obvious looking from my old XFR (alloy pipe) and F-Type (plastic pipe) and back again.
As far as I can tell it is not possible to retro-fit the alloy pipe to a car which originally came with the plastic pipe. If it is possible then a whole bunch of other parts/pipes would also need to be replaced, and maybe that is what the dealerships do in lieu of any TSB on this problem.
Attached is a page from the 2010-2011 XFR Workshop Manual showing the two different cross-over pipes, on the left is the plastic one and on the right is the alloy one:

As per the notes the plastic pipe is for the NA 5.0 and the alloy pipe is for the SC 5.0.

The dealer says no TSB for this. I don't have the part number.
Seems to me it might be worth changing it over to a metal one. Dealer says it is available.

Dealer just advised me that they do not have a metal pipe, only the plastic one. Thanks for the feedback guys.

I also inquired about changing over to the aluminium pipe and was told they are no longer stocking them. The aluminium pipes never had issues, so they needed to replace them with P.O.S. plastic ones so they could charge you to take off the induction manifold, water pump, and supercharger just to replace the dam thing!!
