Okay, now I'm confused. That last photo was taken on my Huawei MediaPad M3 tablet and posted from my tablet as well. And yet it came out exactly the same as normal desktop uploads. No "thumbnail" at all.
When you upload, there should be a "Photo" icon ("Image" icon). Do you use that? Could you provide some more details about your steps? The photo I uploaded in the previous post is a 8 megapixel photo, 3264x2448. No problems with the size.

.
thanks some day, and all you guys ,I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HELP,
it seems only after i upload into a photo app, from my camera , that they turn upside down , my other pix apps. work OK ! but only on JF forum.
I;ll handle it later , supper is on the table, and you know who is making self known! thanks Ron,,LOL
As far as I know the only place on the Forum where the Size of the Photo's Megapixels (MP) are limited is for your Profile Photo
Which is 64KB or if you are going by Photo Size 125 X 125 pixels
So quality wise it may not come out great, although it may help to make that Photo a Close Up
For all the other Photo's you can AFAIK use as Higher Resolution as you want to, because it is going to be a much bigger Photo
No need to go over the top with the Megapixels unless you are also wanting to use those same Photos to Print out Big Enlargements
The Photos I take for use on the Forum are only 2.5MP because I don't want to Print out Enlargements and Pixel Wise my Photos are 1920 X 1280
The Smaller the Resolution the Faster they load and I also use this size when I'm emailing Photos, so 2.5MP is pretty much general purpose (at least for my own use)
But to make Big Enlargements more MP would give you better quality
And though I could go for a Higher Resolution Image ie more Megapixels, there isn't any point in overkill.

There is in fact a size limit even for uploading to your own albums. If I try and upload a full-sized jpeg from my DSLR, it'll give me an error message saying it's too large.
are you using a windows or a mac computer for picture storage? If windows, download a batch programme to do a size correction. Or use paint.
Open picture in paint
Press ESC on keyboard
Click on Edit and the resize (shold be the names on an English computer)
Should now be a size menu appear. You can either do it by per cent or pixels. Most times it will be Asien to do it on pixels. Enter the pixel size you want (i.e. 1024x768) and the programme will resize the picture. At the same time the file size will be reduced.
All my pictures, apart frim mobile shots, are resized prior to uploading. Either on FB, Flickr, Instagram or here on JF.
Or upload on Flickr. You get all different sizes automatically done without having to do it yourself.
And just for fun, here a picture uploaded from an old Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with now Android 7.x or was it 8.x!?
He seems to be using his phone, so I'm not sure how much Paint will help. Though if Ron does use Windows, I might suggest Faststone Image Viewer (free program) as a pretty decent basic image manipulator. Resizing. cropping, adding text and arrows, and all that sort of thing.
I use a batch correction programme called Photoscape. Most pictures I resize are done in a batch load. All shortend/cropped/resized to how I want them to. Also doesn't overwrite the file... It creates a new one to keep the original
