Default x300 window washers on your x308

I know some of you have reversed the x308 window washer (located on the wiper) back to the x300 solution (2 nozzles on the cowl).

I might be able to grab some stuff from a x300 next week, so I was wondering what it needs?
Just the nozzles and the underlying hoses?
Or maybe just move over the whole cowl?

Since the nozzles mount to the 4 foot plastic trough / grill very different in the nozzle shape itself in the early X308's wipe blades you would need the trough . Easy wiring needed . You can skip the connector and just slice them in . Jaguar # LNA7096AA

Ok, thanks, they look more than just some nozzles .

What are the wires for, the heater elements?

I don't think I need them in a tropical climate, but will splice them anyway?

How are they operated, together with the front or rear window heating?

The wires are the heater wires and the bonehead engineer tapped them into the alternator excitation circuit of the voltage regulator on the X300 . Can come from a different source like when you have the heater pump running as when you would only need them powered . I by the way painted the wiper ( 1 on the X300 ) , arm , and whole trough platinum white because she's special , she's like the prettiest Jaguar on the whole block .

YouTube video coming after I get my retirement checks straightened out so I can re-engineer the engine and put my Lady P. on a dynometer . It would be grand with the proper music to turn up loud . It would be a present to all those that have helped me . Might paint her myself in the color she always whispers in my ear . Right now she is the original blue/ green mica " Nautilus " color that it works with to give her a splash of class . If she was a guy I would call it " The Admiral " as anyone would be proud to sail on this fine British piece of art . Sound of Royal Navy Busman Whistle .

It looked like the cowl on the x300/x308 was the same shape, the x308 just has blanking covers over where the x300 nozzles were. If you're there I'd grab the hose and splitters that go from inside the engine bay to the nozzles, to avoid having to plumb it yourself. Same for the wiring, get the matching harness that goes from the nozzle heater connectors to the engine bay, and cut it off where it goes into the main loom (if you're planning on hooking up the washer heaters). I believe someone on the forums had the nozzles wired in along with the rear window/mirror defrost circuit.

I'll check on cowl compatibility soon, if the nozzles don't fit... I may give away the x300 nozzle/hose set I've got lying near me. I'll report back with what I find

The plastic washers and screws on the trough can be very fragile . Stainless steel replacements would work . Ensure you clock the wiper blade arm in the same place by putting a tape mark on the windshield . The holes can be Dremel® tool or hand filed out but they are most likely the same .

Ericjansen , what part of Taipei as I traveled around the city including the National Palace Museum ( there's the stuff ) including a memorable 7 course meal at the Imperial Hotel Taipei once in my airline employment career as a jet doctor .

Yeah, the National Palace Museum is really worth a visit, and then you should consider that most of what they have is NOT on display, but hidden in one of the many tunnels and bunkers in the hills behind.
I live just outside Taipei, on the coast, less crowded, and better for cleaner air and fresher winds in the summer.
Here is your Palace Hotel, I pass it several times a week on early morning river side bike rides.
Totally restored after the roof burned off several years ago.

The other 97 % and it's cultural treasures not presently displayed travels the world in different museums . The tour I was on didn't spend enough time on the 3rd floor . Saw some stuff in the Chicago Museum in my art form in the Wenzong dynasty form later as I have one . It was really cool as all the the bunched up offerings would combust in the downtown temple .

.

As others have said, just pop the blanking plugs out the X308 cowl and pop the washers in. Try and get the tube off the car, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t as most car shops sell tube and T pieces. I hooked into the the heated front screen circuit for mine, but on my previous XJ they weren’t wired and never froze anyway.
It’s a sensible thing to do as the one on the wiper arm is silly and ruins the smooth lines.
