Default Need photos of Series II XJ trunk and drivers knee panel

Good morning all,

I'm working on tidying up my 76 XJ12 and its missing the knee panel under the steering column so I'm wondering if someone could send me pictures of what this area as well as the trunk is supposed to look like so I can try my best to recreate.
thanks
Kevin

Why not check with David Boger, Everydayxj. Just up the coast from you. Get one, in the right color and in good condition at a reasonable price.

Thanks Nix, I do have one more favor, I need to ID the non window switches on the center slope. Theres one to the left of the shifter and another in the middle of the slope under the window switches that I don't know what they are for. Also, does a S2 have a steering horn or remote button?
Thanks

Humor !!!

Elinor is NIX's loving stewardess. She is more than likely working her day time job to support NIX and herself. She in turn supported by Husband that prefers anonymity.

My "guess" is that the other two rockers are "door and window defeat" and Cruise Control. Six in total on the "ski slope" aka console.

Further, tis the pad on the wheel that "activates" the ground leg on the relay that "toots" the horns.

Ugh, foggy and cool here, Not conducive to garage thrashing

Nix says you are very welcome. She is happy to help in any way she can to keep one of her siblings (Series 2) on the road.

The first switch you mention, between the two bottom window switches, is called an isolator, "that prevents ANY of the other switches from operating their respective windows."

The rocker switch to the left of the shifter operates electric door locks all at once. This circuit works even with the ignition switched off.

I'm wondering if LnrB's boot has been treated to some deeee-luxe trim work? In the back of my mind I'm thinking that Ser II cars had black vinyl trim....as did the early Series IIIs.

Cheers

That could very well be, Doug.
I have also learned standard seats were vinyl also and not Leather Nix is appointed with, as well as leather door liners. In fact, the Only vinyl on the whole car is the crash roll and rear parcel shelf.

It's quite astonishing to me the quantum money that guy poured into a 10 year old car at the time, and Bragged about it; most of which we got receipts as proof!

Your car would've been built with leather faced seats. That is, leather on the actual seating surfaces but vinyl elsewhere.

In other markets Jaguar offered cloth upholstery: Velour-ish on Series IIs and Tweed-ish on Series IIIs.

Some of the upper-end Jags had leather consoles, door trims, etc. But sorting that out is a real journey into the weeds

Cheers

Yes, leather console and door covering. Plus wool headliner and pillar covering.

He even tried to pass it off as a Vanden Plas (I knew next to Nothing about Jaguars at the time) which I soon learned was yet another, um, Fabrication of his very fertile imagination.

Well, my car's boot is not as "sharp" as that of NIX. but, it is carpeted on he sides and floor. It was well detailed and clean when I bought it in 2001. It still is. including the jack and wrench roll stowed on the left wall. However, a lot of stuff in it as well And, the lid for the spare well stands "proud" just a bit.

Not an issue. present issue is nicer weather to tackle the SMOG test flunk on a subjective "test". The pipes smoke black on "snap throttle'.
Present suspect, bad "MAP".

Billy is back and enjoying the "over growth" in my "back forty".
