Installed the x300 washer nozzles, and replaced a small coolant bleed hose with a new OEM one. Finally rinsed the salt off of the car too. While driving around on an errand run, waiting at a light, got a big puff of steam under the hood, a low coolant light, and that unmistakable evaporating antifreeze smell. One of the T-junctions at one of the heater octopus hoses burst and was spraying coolant all over the trans, cats, etc...
Managed to park it and find a gas station nearby that had gallon jugs of water, and hose repair tape. Tape didn't do much, but I was able to drive it by work (just happened to be a mile away) to get tools and do a slightly better tape job, then drive home, stopping after a couple miles to top off the coolant tank with water, and again just before I got home. Naturally that hose only comes as a very expensive set... but it may be worth it just to get the renewed connections all around there, and peace of mind. Strange since the hoses in the car are all still very pliable and not showing any signs of rot or cracking.
Got the front door panels out, installed all missing plastic pins, replaced the cracked front speaker covers (new ones provided by member Stu - thanks Stu!) and refitted the lining in the door pockets.

How intricate was it doing the door pockets. I've pondered changing mine up, as the back have some some small tears.

They basically have the same problem as the head liner, the foam comes off the backing.
I will completely redo mine if, one day, I am in for a new headliner, but some 2 sided tape on the back made it like new again.

Thinking about doing something similar to this jacquard faux velvet material in mine.
Or this which would set off my door's wood.
Edit :
Now I'm down in the fabric rabbit hole lol. I'll be initially puzzled as I'm getting numerous sample deliveries throughout the coming week.

Said it before, but now I am really almost finished with my VDP.
Managed to score a rather rare rear parcel shade.
It came in a dark interior color, did not like the look of it, so I painted the housing in the same broken white as most plastic parts are in my ivory car.
I thougt I'd try to repair my driver's seat on my 1999 XJ8 VDP, that was pretty worn and cracked. I watched a video on YouTube and then ordered a leather repair kit from "Furniture Clinic" here are my results. Not perfect but a big improvement. I had to play with the colour a bit, but I came pretty close. Cheaper than the alternative.
Yesterday we ran a bottle of seafoam through the fuel, Lucas through the oil, and seafoam spray through the throttle body.
Old girl blew out a huge cloud of nasty, white smoke for about a mile!
Received my long awaited roof spoiler last night, only to find out that not only the roof of a LWB is different (something I knew), but also the rear window curvation (something I obviously never realized ).
Back to the drawing board ...
Huh?
KC is talking about the roof spoiler, your link is about the parcel shelf blind ..
To answer both:
The roof spoiler is different for SWB and LWB, both for length as well as for curvation, and can't be modified without cutting them up (and even then...).
The blind is not related to SWB or LWB, but is divided by a 1-piece long one for the non-subwoofer cars, and the 2-piece short version for the subwoofer ones. There is no way one can be made into an other, i can only see how you can raise the long one up to fit over the subwoofer, but that will look pig-ugly.
Finally, as far as I know, all (!) blinds are no longer available.
I replaced my fog light switch yesterday. It got on my nerves, that I had only that side not illuminated. So I bought a used unit. Finally, after nearly 3 years of ownership, the dash is all illuminated! Now the over head console has lost Illumination on the drivers side MAP light. Grrrr... And the window switches are flickering after the previous owner went blue LED.
Just sorted my LPG system out. Been driving the last 7 weeks on normal petrol because it didn't work. Seemed like something had packed up. Booked an appointment in Berlin for a check up and thought I'd check a few things prior. And then I found it: a loose connection. Pushed together, click! Cable tie around it and then started the car: everything works again! Yay! Back to saving hundreds of hard earned Euros a month!
