I'm just thinking that if I saw it rolling down the street, I be wondering "What is he advertising?", as the only wildly wrapped cars I've seen are always promoting something.
Is the logo etched on the lip of your wheels? I was on another car forum and someone had wheels that were etched similarly. Is this a new trend within the aftermarket arena?
I'm thinking yes (well somewhere on the wheels anyway. I just read a review of the 2018 XJR and here's a pic of the wheels:
Finally the struts get finished tomorrow. Custom made strut mounts since the ones I ordered wont work (and dont fit our x150 jags). This weekend I can finally start the air bag setup process. Should only take a day or two.
Got the sub and air ride configuration done. Now to install it all and then make it look pretty. Goodbye spare tire.. or trunk room for that matter.. lol
I'm pretty sure some XJ's had it and you should be able to incorporate it if wanted.
Ill stick with basic suspension. I just like the height adjustability. My friends Lamborghini has adjustable heights and he races the thing. So lots of misconceptions about air shocks. I remember not loving it in my P38 Range Rover, the system was weak, outdated and always had leak on cold days. But the ride was nice.

The XJ air ride utilized bilsteins that were/ are considered by some as unreliable. Nevertheless, I liked it on a sedan but it was a bit "floaty". The XJR had a stiffer air suspension, but I still don't think is would feel right in the XK.
Arnott offers after market Air suspension that doesn't use the XJ's eCATS system. If someone were interested, they could inquire with them as to whether or not they would physically fit. I think they'd be too big. Even if you add it, you'd lose CATS.
You would still need to add the air lines, compressor, reservoir, valve block, leveling system off a donor car. Then there's programming ride height. Not sure that could be done with OEM software since it isn't an option on the car.
Aftermarket as above probably makes more sense if you're inclined to do it at all.
Im thinking about selling my struts setup with the adaptive dampening (CATS) built in and H&R lowering springs installed. What are they worth for the full package? The ride with them was pretty amazing and worked 100% and no wheel/tire rub with 20" rims/35 series tires. Just no need for them soon and am curious what they are worth.
Today I installed some sound deadening and im not sure if it was the 30 degree weather or just being old but my door pieces were breaking left and right. Clips, panels everything broke and cracked on that drivers door panel. Luckily I am good at plastic welding and can fix them up fine. The other door was much easier as it was already loose from the previous owner and I just never fixed it.
I installed new kicker speakers in the REAR (Kicker 41DSC654 6-1/2" 6.5" D-Series) and they fit great as they are low profile. And then I installed kicker component set (Kicker 40CSS654 6.5" 300W Component Speakers) in the front. These speakers also fit perfect and even the tweeter just pushed right in the hole and looks perfect.
The sound deadening was also installed in the hatch/trunk area and hatch door. Now the next step is to install the AudioControl LC7i to get high level outputs for amps to all the speakers. The rockville 30 farad capacitor will help the system keep power for the sub amp, especially when I also have an air ride setup being powered at the same time.
And lastly.... I bought a swan neck wing... Arrives in a few weeks I guess, it will be interesting as Im not 100% sure I want a wing, but I have a friend that will buy it if I back out. The base on this wing is 11 inches and I only have 9 inches in front of the current little duck bill spoiler for room, so another friend of mine is taking the wing stands and making me new ones that will have a 8 inch base and be a little shorter. He is also having the jaguar logo cnc cut out of them along with those current circles that are in it and then black powder coated.
That is a pretty awesome car. Would love to see a race like that someday. I wonder if body panels or anything from those race series cars will ever be on the market to buy.
