How long will you keep your XK?
How long have you had your xk? how long do you intend to keep it? I have had my 07 convertible for 3 years and 25,000 miles. Wondering how long on average people keep their cars before moving on to something else.

I had mine for just over 2 years and really, I thought I would keep it for a lot longer even though I usually turn them over at around 2 - 3 years. If it wasnt for the stereo and infotainment and no reverse camera, I would have kept it a lot longer, which I appreciate isnt a good reason to move on from such a gorgeous car.

In the almost five years I've had my X150, I have driven her less than 7,000 miles. Usually just once per week.
Not sure I would ever sell her. After much prompting by the local dealership, I did look at the X152 'R' version, but I don't care for the size of the car, interior appointments and exterior styling. I will most likely just keep the X150 until I see something else I like.

I drove my 2010 XK 700 miles last year. I've owned it for 4 years. 9500 miles on it. I probably don't see selling it unless I am no longer able to drive. I have my 2001 LS430 9 years and its great reliable transportation. I keep cars on the average of 10-12 years. Might keep the Jag until I die.....which might be about that time... LOL.. .(I hope not!)

I had my 2008 xk for 3 years and we put 30k on it and loved every mile of it so we bought our 12 xkr and have had it a bit more than 2 years now. We've only put ~5k on it and have still really enjoyed it. It's a 2nd car and mostly just a date night/road trip use. I really love it but I do worry about maintenance as it gets older. I figure in the next 1-3 years i'll replace it if a new contender comes up but there's not a match on the radar for me for now.

I'll drive it for 100k or ten years. I'll keep it forever most likely.
My '68 Fairlane I've had since '91, '68 Ranchero with a 5.0 swap and a '69 Mustang fastback since '92 as well. Blown '93 Mustang since y2k and put 100k on it. Both Mustangs I'll probably get rid of. My Cummins swapped '71 F-350 I'll keep forever too. Took 8 years to get it on the road so no reason to get rid of it.

I've had this one for around 3 years and put approximately 35,000 miles on it in that time. I had an XK8 as a predecessor to this one, and kept that one 3 years. My sense is I'll do one last "upgrade" to a 2014 in a few years and ride that one into the dirt, though I like Cee Jay's line of thinking of moving over to an Aston Martin Vanquish as a replacement when the 2014 gets a little long in the tooth.

You Can Take It With You
I owned my 1960 Corvette (purchased new) for 42 years, and my son has my 1993 600SL, so I might take it with me ... (not)
I won't, but she did:

P.S. I've had my XKR since August, 2010 and have no intention of selling it.

I have only had my '10 XKR for three months but had my '07 XKR for around 5 years.
If I was to upgrade it would most likely be for an AWD 5L F Type in 3-5 years time but I am still not totally sold on the practicality of them compared to the XKR.
I did test drive an Aston Martin DB9 and 4.7 Vantage late last year and although I would like the prestige of having one in the garage I actually preferred the responsiveness of the XKR and the way it handles.

I had my 2007 XK Coupe for four years and got my current 2014 XK Coupe in December 2017. The 2007 XK was the most reliable Jaguar I've ever owned and I hope the later one is similar. It's why I went for the 2015MY and one of the last thousand built.
I've had new and used Jaguars continuously since the early 1970's, keeping them from between two to five years. They have been my daily drivers and I've always had another car - Aston Martin DB5 for 28 years followed by a Bentley Continental R for 11 years and currently a Bentley Continental GT for the last four years.
I considered the F-Type Coupe after the last XK but rejected it because there's no real luggage space.
There is absolutely nothing newer in the Jaguar range that appeals to me. The F-Type is too small, the four door saloons are too bland and there are better options if I wanted an SUV.
If this XK proves as reliable as my last one then I'll keep it. At 68 years old it shouldn't be too hard to make it last as long as I will be driving.

I have never kept my cars very long, but at this point we have had my '07 and my wife's MB for 4 years with no plans to dispose of either. I do look every once in a while, thinking I might like a newer XK or XKR, but only if one really "speaks to me". I think I have put about 20,000 miles on the XK.
