Jeagar, My question is what do you drive NOW?
2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - Onyx/Ivory
20" BBS "Montreal" Wheels
"Sweet Sugar"
Jeagar,
Since 1998, I have used one of my (4) XK Coupes! Currently driving my 2005 XKR Coupe with 92,000 miles showing on the Speedo....and lots more to go....I plan to drive "Sweet Sugar" until I check out! Hopefully, she'll be worth a lot of money by then.......
It's only 12 miles from Home to the Office and 5 of those miles take me through George Bush Park, so that's about 10 miles a day in a Park setting, which isn't to bad.....not much traffic and a lot of scenery.....it isn't so bad going through the Park....."Sugar" and I cruise along at about 50.....

At home in Mt. Daily drivers are 98 Chev K10 and 08 Lincoln MKZ. Always drove Vanden Plas but after ditching last one on icy Hwy Wife won't drive rear wheel drive car. I prefer them as they can be driven out of a skid. Also drive my 1955 ****** Aero Bermuda survivor a lot. In Az I have a 99 Ford Lightening and she drives a 08 Tarus X, Airport car, having two two passenger cars wasn't working so sold the 01 XK8 here. Still have the 98 at home.

I probably drive my XK8 and Land Rover LR3 about equally on local errands, depending upon what I need to haul. I use my 3/4-ton pickup only if I have to do serious hauling. Try to keep the Jag put away during rainy weather, however, as we have a long dirt driveway and its black paint gets ugly-dirty too quickly.

At the moment I drive nothing exciting really. We have a W212 Estate/Wagon for the family and a Mazda 3 for a beater. Which one I drive any given day depends who is driving the little ones that day. So the X100 will be our third car. I'm not selling anything when I get it. We have the space for a third car in the garage and the X100 can't really replace either car. It will be my baby.
Although I plan on daily driving it as much as I can.

I don't have far to drive to work and even thought the odd day I have to be gentle on the throttle in a Canadian snow storm I drive my 2008 Stype every day. The 2004 XK8 lives in the garage in the winter and then becomes my daily driver in summer. Both cars are at about the 115,000 mile mark but are very reliable and in great condition. Good snow tires on the Stype.

But I'm having trouble convincing the wife to switch for an older model. It would probably be easier to convince her to move to a XF or XJ X351. But I still have not made peace with the Audi interiors the new Jaguars come with. I need more therapy before I can feel like I'm sitting in a Jaguar before I buy one of them. I'm almost over the Audi exteriors though. Although they will never look as Jaguar as a S-Type or prior XJs. I'm sure I will come around eventually.
