Heater control valve bypassed

I bought a 1999 XJ8 with a dead trans and poorly running engine as a project (Jaguar Specialites LS Swap and such)
In the process of pulling the engine I found out it seems the previous owner disconnected and removed the heater control valve.
Does anyone have a diagram of how the hoses should be hooked up to the heater control valve and where they go to? Is it worth replacing the valve or is the POs “fix” acceptable for a car that would be intermittently driven (I do like having heat...)
