SO I am replacing the bulbs in my cluster. A few threads he talk about T3 and T4. I used those in my Clock and temp display but they are too small to fit in the Instrument cluster. I also saw 8.7 was also used. Any help out there.
The cluster that pulled off the parts car that I bought has twist on for all the lights that is why I am confused. Am I missing something. Trying to do an LED upgrade
On my 1997 XJ6 there were originally two versions of bulbs:
> 24 off JLM28 (orange); and
> 8 off JLM29 (white).
The JLM29 has now been replaced by the JLM28 (i.e. 32 orange based bulbs).
I have replaced these using the Ring autobulb number: R509TWGY
These are 12V / 1.2W and sold in packs of 10.
I suggest you DO NOT use a incandescent bulb in your clock. They emit too much heat and will melt the connection of the ribbon cable to the board. AKSpeedo (akspeedo.com) offers replacement LEDs.
B8.7D from memory for the 8 illumination ones (the white ones in the picture), I got some from here in June 2016 and they still all work
And yes, the dimming works. https://www.superbrightleds.com/more.../attributes/14
Received my lights and they do not fit so sending them back. I sent them a message that they don't and told them that I would send them a light so they can figure out a replacement. Waiting to here back from them
Please let me know...I ordered B8.3D in the past and it did not fit. The bulb holder and the hole were the exact same size, so I could not get it to fit.
It is the B8.7D. I tried to go through the customer service sent them pictures and measurements and everything they needed to send me the correct one and did not work so I ordered every possible light that could fit and the B8.7D was the only one that worked. What is nice is if I ever can't figure another one out I have plenty to try.
