does anybody have a decent picture of the fan bearing mount?
I am restoring the engine driven fan that the DPO made go away.
I think I see how the fan bearing fits in there, but does anybody have the front of their engine apart far enough to post a picture?
I'd be a lot further along if this making a living thing would keep getting in the way.
Thanks

Hi 71MK1V
Not sure what you meant by Fan Bearing, did you mean the Fan Clutch?
Putting a New Fan Assembly on is quite easy (in the Scheme of things) although a whole lot easier with the Top Closing Panel off
This Pic may help?
The Mechanical Fan in its Shroud
The Fan Shroud
Fitting the Fan is easier with the Top Panel Removed

Here is a head on view of the mount with pulley and studs on my V12.
Here is a straight down pic on my engine before:
This link will take you to even greater detailed pictures of the fan bearing, mount and housing going through an overhaul etx.

You are best to change the bearing as well. Problem is, the original bearing is now NLA. You can use a water pump bearing though. The Wizard of Oz (Grant Francis) had one sorted for me before I found the last bearing available... (at that time).

So I have a dumb question.
Is there any reason just to find two off the shelf bearings and make a new shaft? Can't be that difficult to do.
41L40, case hardened, couple circlip grooves, how hard can this be?
