Sub woofer for XF
Hello, I want to add a 1000watts sub to my 2014 XF. But Jaguar dealer told me that this may cause problem to my car electrical system since I am adding 1000 watts amp and which will use Battery power. But I see so many people added after market sub. Please advise what should I do.

I have a 500 W RMS amp and it is perfect. I had the factory sub so the install was very easy, everything is in the trunk. I made a custom box that fits under the floor but I had to get rid of the spare tire. There are a few threads on subs, here are a couple with pictures of what others have done.

I had a 900w class AB amp initially and have since replaced it with a 1200w class D amp. No electrical issues. But I do have an Interstate AGM battery that might help. I also had a 1500w class D amp and had no issues.
One thing I recently did is buy a salvaged trunk floor, cut a hole in it and vented my sub directly to the trunk. Put my cast aluminum grill on the top side. It sounds better on higher bass notes, but doesn't hurt on lower notes. Much punchier sound.
