What are the plastic cylinders under the airbox?
I'm fixing stuff on my new '98 XJ8 and there appears to be a broken T-fitting in what looks like a vacuum line going to two little plastic cylinders under the airfilter box.
I'm going to to run to the autoparts store for a replacement T-fitting, but what am I fixing?

With a new T, at least they are hooked up, now, whatever they do.

AJ-26 engines used a vacuum line to the throttle body to operate the cruise control. Those are the vacuum reservoir tanks to ensure proper operation of the cruise control. The AJ-27 throttle bodies did away with the vacuum control for the cruise control, so no more need for those reservoirs.

I'm finding vacuum leaks all over the motor. The Texas heat for 20 years was not kind to the plastic Jaguar chose.
I'm going to have to rig up a Tom Cruise Mission Impossible suspension harness so I can work over the motor without touching anything that might break off in my fingers.
Its obvious my XK8 came from a cooler part of the country than my XJ8 did.
