Uh, no.
While I DO now have SDD and an interface, Cambo (who is helping me and TT do this) told us to hold off doing any programming until he has us both do something else or adds info. He's been a bit.... behind us though, so we both wait.

Thought my 1 yr old Duralast Gold crapped the bed. Car sat for 3 days (not on the C-Tek this round) and early evening saturday I see the parking lights are flashing pathetically dim... Crap, dead battery again. (I love how when the battery gets low the car automatically turns on the lights to kill it further!!!!)

Removed the "defective" battery Sat night, took to Autozone Sunday, they charged it up and load tested (and again 2 hours later in front of me). Good battery.... Installed, started up, reset windows and put on the C-Tek.

I have a feeling this is not the end of this..... :-|

Finally got away from my trucks steering box / master cylinder / brake line replacement debacle and got the car on the stands for rear o2 replacement. Figured it was also a good tome to check the oil change mileage on the filter. Wipe off the gunk and it says 123k. Check the dash and we're at 131k whoops. Roll out to Wally world and get 10 quarts of Castrol high mileage 5w20 and no filter there or Autozone (Sunday trip). Came home and moved on to something else, like a nap. Came out this morning ran out to NAPA for a filter, drained the oil and then noticed the cap says 5w30...

Shakes fist at car, writes mileage and oil type on oil filter box and drops it into the glove box for next time. So now, run back to Wally's and swap out the oil and maybe get something cheap for lunch. I'm somewhere North of $500 in car parts the past week and feeling it.

40k service including Oil change, brake fluid flush, air filter change, general checkup. All good except the pesky TMPS Christmas tree show is back....

I found a brother of my Portfolio. 3 cars down the line from mine, exact same build spec.
What did you do to your X150 today?-photo44.jpg
Mines 28951, this one 28954, they were literally on the production line at the same time, on the same boat coming over here, delivered together.

Although they are a bit different to each other now.

An interesting spot! Any idea whether cars -52 and -53 are Portfolios and in Australia?

Today I drove and enjoyed life, until I noticed my headlights were looking a bit cloudy on the upper part. I had noticed this before, but it seemed to disappear when wiped with a wet sponge, though now I realized it soon re-appeared. I was rather shocked when I had a closer look:

What is this? Have the headlights perhaps been polished before (maybe right before I bought the car half a year ago) and this is some crappy clearcoat job failing?

Clear acrylic tends to haze over time; UV damage softens it and then it picks up scratches & pitting. Toothpaste, particularly baking powder types, is the answer - does a great job of polishing acrylics.

I usually go the body-work way. Wet sand with first 400 to get the majority of crap off, then 1000, 1500 and finally 3000. After that, polishing compound.
Of course, then a clear coat of some kind will be needed, one with UV protection.
Aon, yours does look like a failed clear coat.

Today I have been mostly reproofing the soft top cover that is on my car when parked up at home.

All ready for a typical English summer now

Added some detail to the hood vents ... finer mesh than the grill but still matches well!

I set up the garage with air conditioning, 5000k LED detailing light and hung a TV. Spent 6 hours using Sonax polish on the DA. Followed it up with Mirror Glaze Polymer. Ultimate black reallly shines when you can see what to polish out. The light made all the difference in a good detail.

I have a bunch of hooks to hang to clean up the garage mess. Too much stuff!

Light reflection washout Reflection from ultimate black 😀

Thanks!

I watched a Meguiars YouTube video on detail lighting and figured I’d try a LED light.

I found a cheap 35 watt 2500 lumens LED work light light from Walmart. It was under $40. I purchased a cheap tripod too.

after watching the video, I saw the difference from changing the silver reflector to a gloss white. I pulled apart the new light with a few screws, pulled out the reflector and used cheap gloss white. It came out pretty good!

This light shows a lot of imperfections in any daily driver.. OCD warning. I am thrilled that I could see surface scratches that were unoticable in the sunshine. The amount of metallic in the paint is insane.
