Default Help with foam noodle

Found this foam noodle in my trunk (boot for Oz and Brits, etc.). Can anyone tell me where it belongs and how to put it back?

That is the cradle for the front tow hook and sits next to the battery.

I am missing that tow hook! Never got it from the factory. Where does the two hook connect to on our cars?

Same with me, no tow hook (and no foam "noodle" either!).
That is the front tow hook, the rear tow hook is much smaller and black rather than silver, and is meant to be removed by the dealership anyway (it's for transportation of the car only). I got the black one and no silver one.
The front tow hook is screwed into a thread near the right hand end of the grille cross piece (ie passenger side on a LHD car). There is a rectangular cover over it about 3 cm by 2.5 cm which just flips off.
Also, it screws in anti-clockwise, opposite of the normal "righty tighty".

Funny how that linked diagram shows an XK bumper!
Anyway, I have proven that the F-Type front tow hook is identical to the XF front tow hook, and you can usually find used (or new) XF tow hooks going on Fleabay for cheap.

A lot of the diagrams and sketches have no similarity with the actual part. They appear to recycle these sketches across multiple models.

I think I have two tow hooks. I need to check if I'm seeing double.

Yes, two. They look identical.

Looks like that extra hook is the one that Guest1 is missing. The universe is back in balance.

I always assumed any F type towing would be done by a roll bed or wheel cradle (lift) type set up.

The 'tow hook' isn't for towing, it's for 'vehicle recovery' - presumably, pulling out of a ditch, etc. I would think a flat bed operator would use it to pull the car onto the flatbed.

Yes, DJS is correct. Not sure how I ended up with two, other than the first week I had the car the battery died and it was flatbedded to the dealer using the tow hook (vehicle recovery tool). Maybe tow company brought an extra one? If someone wants one, I'll give one up. Not sure it's worth the shipping charges;maybe a blueberry blaster needs one?

Hi,
Just bought a 2020 CPO F-Type. I have these two tow hooks just sitting in the trunk. Now I know where the longer one is supposed to go by the battery. Is there a place in the car where the smaller one is supposed to live?

The smaller one goes on the rear of the car but you are not supposed to use it as it is not for towing the car, it is used only as a shipping tie down point.
The dealership is supposed to remove it before selling the car but often it is left behind.
