Thanks guys, I appreciate that. I will say buying the XKR recently has really brought me "back" in some ways and certainly has brightened my spirit, plus hanging out with you guys here is also a bright spot in my days.

Cheers,

Dave

I'm wishing you the best Dave. Who knows brother, a few more surgeries and you may be a new man

I didn't mind the RFA I had, but the three preliminary Facet Injections were massively SUCK.

Never having an MI, I can only empathize.

I feel for ya, brutha.

I'm usually more towards Julio than Willie, but can still pull off either one. If I'd not been distracted by the car, maybe my story would be a bit different.
(don't tell my wife)

You can't "not tell your wife", since she already knows what you're thinking. There's a female gene for that.

Naw, man..... no untoward debauchery or anything. My wife's cool anyway. Now my PREVIOUS wife; holy ballz... I couldn't even look at the waitress taking my dinner order without catching SERIOUS hell. It was miserable. She's dead now (previous wife, not the waitress).

Well, I FINALLY saw another XK that isn't forum-related while I was in my F150. I was leaving a Smith's Market when a dark blue convertible 2012+ XK pulled in. Course I whipped around and parked, then walked up towards the then-parked car. The woman driving it glanced quickly at me then looked down and didn't move. When I rapped on the cart corral next to the car she looked at me again and lowered the window about two inches.
She was about 40 or so, freshly foofed blond hair and generally a well-kept lady. I stated I had a 2010, and asked her what hers was, 2012 or newer, and she sorta-politely said "it's a fifteen"..... and then put the window back up. She never shut the car down either.
I'm certain she thought to herself "Yes, SURE you have an XK."
Oh well, it was pretty and very clean.
As was the car.

Probably never see it again.
By way of introduction, you just need to whip out that ... key fob. Show her you're "in the club" and offer to buy her a Pimms Cup as penance for making her feel awkward.

FWIW, if that would have been my wife, I'd have 'high fived" her for her appropriate handling of the encounter. Never ceded vehicle access to you, kept her 'escape' options open, etc.

No guy, dark was a stranger approaching women in a parking lot- no matter what the reason. Its like trying to strike a convo with the guy in the mens room next to you- thats uncomfortable.

This happily married and blessed guy is just sharing proudly his gifts.

That is a great idea, BUT, I would refrain from the whipping out part...might be better to already have it in your hand.

Please revert back. I was only emphasizing how awestruck I was. You were absolutely in the right. Life is about beauty lifting us up to its standards, we are not in Saudi Arabia.
