I just got my 2007 XK convertible yesterday. Is there some way to stop the antenna from raising if I am only using the CD player?

Remove the fuse when the antenna is down.

Specifically fuse F4 in the fuse box between the rear seats. See handbook for instructions on how to access it.

Any ideas on wiring a switch for the antenna? I guess it'd be easiest to use something similar to this?

I installed a switch in the power lead of my antenna. Installed the switch in the side of the console interior.

Thanks to everyone for the information. I have removed the fuse at F4 and the antenna no longer deploys and I still get decent FM reception. I will eventually put a stubby antenna on, but for now this is great. Thanks Again

Not sure I like that look...Some have fitted antennas inside the rear spoiler instead, for example. More work, of course...

Welcome to the forum Vistacom1,

Whilst Location = in my car may seem hilarious to you, we ask this information because Jaguar specification vary across World markets and an answer that is correct for Europe may not apply in the US and vice versa.

The dual purpose of the radio aerial is an example. In Europe it receives TM (Traffic Management) information even when the radio or CD is not in use. Disabling or changing it can affect this function. In the US it makes no difference.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

I would change the angle back a bit, but it looks better than the aerial from auld lang syne, lol. (I hope I got that right.)

No idea, the photo was posted by someone on a car-spotting subsection of Reddit.

I have an 07 XK Convertible. I pulled the fuse within a year of buying the car in 07 because the wind noise from that retro antenna could be heard through the top at highway speed. I picked up a marine line antenna that I draped behind the rear seats. It has a powered boost that I wired into the rear fuse box. Works well enough, but I use the CD's or my IPod nano that I wired in more than the radio. I hate commercials.

Reverend Sam in the XK8 forums made up an antenna system that goes around inside the car, although his is a convertible. That's all I can remember, don't recall how well it worked.
