Default What's in a Face?

Have you all seen the new AM Vantage?

How about that face? It is described as sexy in the car mags.

Not to take away from what must be a fine machine, to me, the front end reminds me of the banjo player in the movie Deliverance.

And the rear? Not for me either. I shan't say what the rear reminds me of.

You want sexy? Take another look at the F-Type, any angle, the most beautiful automobile on the planet.

Thanks you Ian.

OMG Don 1954,, you are correct on both points. The F- Type is gorgeous from all angles. I have to turn back and look at it two or three times every time that I park it. At my business, I park it next to the rear door and I find myself opening it every so often to check it out. I have liked the looks of the Vanquish, but they just missed the mark on this one!

Conventional wisdom is the target market is the younger folks.

We shall see what they think when they ring in on this matter.

The color of the one I saw pictures of didn't help either, but I tend to agree. The front almost looks like one of the iterations of RX-7 or something in the front and like it's trying too hard from the rear. It's not the ugliest car I've seen, but it doesn't fit what I think of when I think of AM and their style.

The DB11 is better looking, but AM needs to stay away from Lexus design direction.

That nose is straight off the AM Vulcan track car. Not great. But. Still a million times better than the Lexus nose!

The back is beautiful, but the front looks like a Mazda

Yes, a bit of hyberbole there to stress the point.

The headlamps have no style whatsoever and look really cheap.
The Grill, as some one else mentioned, seems to be trying to be too much like a Lexus, absent the hour-glass design.

Headlights remind of squinty snake eyes or alligators. Not my favorite reptiles.
