So I got a call today and gave UPS a tax ID, then when I got home I saw the email about $103 due, and paid it to UPS directly online using paypal. Looks like the rotors are in a nearby city UPS location, so if my payment was timely enough I may see them tomorrow. UPS email communications made it seem like if I didn't pay in advance I could pay the driver, but if no pay, no delivery.
Same thing here... Rotors were in Aliso Viejo UPS distribution this afternoon.
So product was never held up, just appears as though they will hold them hostage till they extract their pound of flesh.
Would have been interesting to see if they delivered without the fee.

Thanks for the heads-up. Hadn’t looked at my email all day. Just paid the duty. What a bite. Had no clue there were tariffs on auto parts. Never paid any before, but I guess I never spent more than $2500 on parts I ordered into the US before.
Got a call from UPS today and they needed some info to release them. Yes, it seems that $2500 is the threshold where they need to know who the importer is, and that be me. Mine have now been released by customs, so we'll see when they show, and what kind of bill I get.
The linked VividRacing page goes to some Mercedes rotors but if you search under "Jaguar F-Type" then the equivalent "WP Pro" rotors (guess - WP = Wortec Pro?) for the F-Type come up on page 5, see here: https://www.vividracing.com/index.ph...+F-Type&page=5.
They look to me to be identical to the Wortec rotors and they are $1,700 for the fronts and $1,200 for the rears so $2,900 for the full set, so all things considered probably no cheaper than the existing group buy.

Mine are reportedly on the truck and out for delivery. I'm sure the driver will be cursing me, as he parks the truck at the base of the driveway and hoofs it from there. The long, steep driveway is primary reason I can't realistically lower my car.
Not sure what your final price ended being, but seems like it would be close to the Vivid price all in. Curious why Wortec would need to test fit rotors to Gibbo's car if they are selling them wholesale to vivid. The forum group may be the first ones they've made for the f-type?
I suspect Vivid has made a deal with Wortec to supply them with these rotors "on demand", ie if and when ordered by customers, and then Vivid will instruct Wortec to make some up.
The Vivid customer will probably be advised "there will be a significant wait while we obtain your order from our supplier" and Wortec probably won't make any up unless or until the orders reach at least 5, maybe 10, so those who order/buy from Vivid early will probably be waiting several months.
Either that, or Wortec made up extras for inventory to sell through their usual retail partners. I’m fairly certain that Wortec would not have launched these rotors had we not presented sufficient interest for them to go through the development effort.
LOL. I heard of this before your group buy. As some know, I own a business involved in F-Type modifications and race prep. and Vivid is a vendor ($2700.00 is the top retail price... 20% off is more like it...
There are two other companies making them available shortly. I am going with a 6 piston caliper setup and floating rotors, the rotors are all done

Wortec sure made it seem like these were the first sets they had made. Oh well, I was able to get them with a few options (black coated/slotted/drilled/suncut) so I'm still happy with the purchase.
Now about the calipers...Strange Jag didn't provide us with 6 piston calipers from factory. What do they cost as an upgrade? Do you anticipate any weight savings over factory?
On the brake issue,I first looked into options as we all know that the rotors are 37lbs or so but what we were asked for was cross drilled for looks. I spoke with Centric and they defended the weight of the rotors (380mm/79mm track X39) . I then spoke with Wilwood and the talk resulted in a study that basically showed minor weight savings for comparably high quality two piece rotors. Had a chat with Brembo and out of curiosity I then spoke with a few of our best distributors vendors, Vivid was one of them and they had indicated a few companies working on rotors for the F-Type, This was BEFORE Gibbo and I had a "discussion" on Facebook where I shared what I heard and went as far as putting an originally but warped 380mm jaguar rotor in a lathe to shave off the hat and see how much it actually cut off the weight. It was not much and that substantiated what the other two companies said. Then I read the claims on here from Wortec, since I already had the OEM rotors in CAD, I reached out to the company that makes some of the best rotors for the 911 GT3 (380mm as well). They are certainly not as light as these from Wortec but I wanted fully floating rotors and not fixed two pieces. Last week, one of the distributors told me that two more companies will bring two piece rotors for the F-Type to market. The weight savings of the combo with aluminum 6 piston calipers will be comparable to having the carbo-ceramic setup. The price of the rotors from Vivid, if we were to sell to a group, would be much more like US $2500.00 delivered. By using the new style of forged wheels on my personal F-Type, the front rotors pictured jump to 405X34mm and allow enough clearance for a cast monoblock Brembo 6 piston caliper. Personally that is the only worthwhile upgrade if you need to touch the brakes.
