Question Help with handbreak

I need to remove the handbrake at the rear calipers and cannot pull the two "arms" together to get slack and release the cable. I have tried to locate the adjuster nut at the driver carpet and I have read where it is and also seen closeups but cannot find that on my car. What gives with that?? I do find a large nut and have tried to remove that but thought better and decided to tighten it back up. When I use the handbreak I get no clicks and the arm moves freely.

Can you help?

Hi MIFoodie

Fear not the Handbrake adjuster is inside the Car although it is a bit fiddly to get to and slacken off, where you have to undo a Locknut and then once that is done

Slacken off the adjuster one turn at a time, which seems to take for ever and so a lot of patience is required

Once you've got that Slackened Off then you should be able to pull those arms together a lot easier

Have a look at this Photo, which I took when I adjusted my Handbrake

It is a bit of a fiddly job, you just need lots of patience and you'll get there but first undo this Lock Nut on the Adjuster

The Handbrake Adjustment Rod is just behind the Drivers Seat underneath the Carpet Trim and can be a bit hard to find
