Hello All,

I have a 2005 VDP with rear enterainmente system but no phone system installed that I purchased about 5 months ago. While the audio screen is up on the touch display the "R" button is transparent as if turned off and is unresponsive when touched to try to enable it's function. Now since the button has never been in the on mode with grey background... I have no idea what it even does to try to search about it in previous threads.

What is the "R" button for and how do I enable it? Or is this an indication I do not have an option installed that this button activate?

(I've owned 8 jaguars over the past 18 years and have been able to fix nearly every problem I've had via these forums to the point where information is so available that this is literally the first time I've had to ask a question in here! I know the information must be in previous threads but needing to use "R" as a key word turns up endless wrong threads)

That is what I was looking for. After thumbing through the manual for a few other things (like using the cabin speakers for DVD etc) I must have been too cross-eyed to notice that part or just plain read it wrong.

So, in theory.. one could use that as a source to plug in a Bluetooth adapter since I do not have the phone system installed? That would be great because it would be nice to have a Bluetooth option that didn't include havingh into the wiring or disconnecting the CD player like I've seen in other threads.
