Default no smart keys working after service

hi
my wife stupidly put petrol in my diesel. i drove for 10 miles before the engine cut out and found out the mess up.
i kept turning over to try and start , until the main battery went flat. i called out a company who were excellent in decontamination and fixed it on the road side.
they had to use jump leads as the battery was flat.
after they left the smart key became unrecognized.
when i got home i tried my other new fob and exactly the same. i called jag and they recommend change the 3v batteries on both pobs. i got the genuine batteries and fitted to both fobs. fyi i am an electronic tech so no check batteries please. i took the car in to jag who want silly money to sort it.

  • to recap.
  • perfect working fobs
  • wrong fuel and fixed
  • jump started because of flat main battery caused by me turning over car till flat.
  • no smart keys work not recognized
  • jag want to much money.
can anyone help

Default Ideas?

Has anyone got any ideas why none of the keys work after a jump start?
We have change the batteries in the phobs twice now. The keys have been tested and are giving out signals. I have checked the fuses and they are ok.
oddest problem. jag uk want £600 for diagnostics and replacement keys.
anything to test would be greatfull. the car is not seeing any of the keys on locking and starting.

Isn't there a slot somewhere in the car (maybe under the steering wheel) where you can 'dock' the smart key if you're having issues? Look up in the manual to check. If so, try putting one of the keyfobs in and see if that works.

Have you not been able to drive the car in 2 months now??

By the way, did you change the main car battery? They are pretty sensitive to weak batteries and if you ran it flat, it might not charge properly again.

scooby01 I have the same problem. How did you ultimately solve yours? I have the connector & software, but much of it requires access to auxiliary mode. So, I'm not sure which setup to run?

Solved my problem by running the instrument cluster module.
