Default Front suspension

This is the urethane donut kit that solves all the problems of front suspension mounts.

Drill out the old rivets, note how center is not centered

Note how original donuts do not fit the housing and allow the center to get knocked askew!

Add the first donut. Note how new donut fits the housing properly

Add the plate right side up

Add the second donut

Compress everything with the mounting nuts and re-rivet

Assemble the coil over assembly, and all your problems are gone
This is how I solved my front suspension problems, using a flexible urethane product that I molded to these shapes. This material worked so well I don't think I will ever have to do this job again. The way the shock mount is captured now makes the shocks more compliant, giving a more controlled quiet ride. The Material is bulletproof and very flexible. I can offer this solution to anyone that needs it for $90, plus $20 shipping, USA or $50 shipping to Europe. My parts have been in my car for 2000 miles over the bumpy roads in my area and so far not a hint of any future problems, just nice compliant ride

Very interesting, I might give that a try this winter.

Before making these parts I had installed the URO components that lasted until I hit the first pothole, but I suddenly had a rattle inside my dash. I pulled the dash apart looking for this rattle but never found it. I did notice however that my relatively new URO shock mount had moved off center and the shock shaft nut was touching the metal housing, which was transferring the noise through the tubular support strut right through the firewall and into the back of the dash. It was then I decided something had to be done!

Phobman…

I saw this post and I am intrigued, I plan on pulling apart my suspension this winter for new shocks and heard/read a lot about the poor quality of the uro mounts. Is this kit you make only for the fronts? I wanna do all four corners shocks and bushings and ball joints etc. let me know if they work for the rears too or if that is in The works. Either way I’d be interested in a set for fronts. I’m in western MA so I would need shipped but that’s not a problem.

I haven't had a problem with the rears, when I do I would certainly make molds and use this same material, far superior to anything else! Shipping to MA. $20

Keep in mind that there are at least four different shapes of metal bell housings that hold the shock mount inner material in place. Anyone making replacement shock mounts needs to be aware of the fact that whichever bell housing an owner happens to have will dictate the shape of the custom inner material that must be created for that specific bell housing. It is not "one size fits all"....

The material is flexible enough that it can be compressed into differences in shape.

Not sure you fully understand the physical forces involved with these different shapes of shock mounts. If the space inside the bell housing is not completely and perfectly filled by the cushioning material (whatever it is comprised of), that material is going to constantly move around inside the bell housing. When that happens over a period of time (could be months, could be weeks, could even be days), that material will break down and fall apart just like the Welsh and URO components have been doing for the past few years. And that is why it is so critical to custom-fit and fill each bell housing depending upon which one the owner happens to have....

This mount system is already on many vehicles in multiple countries and definitely seems to solve the issue of bad front mounts.
A simple forum search would show the progression of this system through testing and development over more than 2 years, let's not pretend it is new.

Is that a straw man? l made no mention of material breakdown.
That is the point of using a quality heat cured polyurethane, which l had assumed you were using.

My post clearly states, "This is the way I fixed my front mount problem" I know others have done it, but they are in England or Australia, I am in the USA. It appears that some others have made bushings out of Delrin, a fine material, but again, not what I wanted. The material I use is an educated guess experiment, and I could not be more pleased with the results, it solved many issues I was experiencing with the car and shows no tendency to wear or collapse. It is flexible enough to be compressed into any shape and bounces back to original when the pressure is let off, no sign of damage. I use it as shoe repair material and it does not wear down. Extremely difficult to cut, sand, grind, or machine, can only be molded. I don't care if others have done it before, this is the way I have done it, and I am extremely pleased
