Help me identify the part - XK 4.2 NA - 2007
Hello forum,
Last week I bought an XK 4.2 from 2007 and today I got it on the lift at my friends place and we noticed that I have a small oil leak coming from this part:
I guess this is an engine oil cooler but it seems that someone bypassed it. (I guess it was leaking coolant into oil system)
Can someone please help me identify the part number so I can try to order a replacement unit.
Thank you!

Not necessarily leaking. The oil filter is awkward to remove without the correct fluted key and a PO could have done this to make it more accessible. Given the cost of a replacement cooler and that it's showing as out of stock at Jaguar, I'd reconnect it and see what happens. Just run it up to temperature and not embark on a cross country tour, of course.

Thanks a lot for the answers provided.
When I search for 6W83-6A642-AA it gives me a Ford part which is priced at around 80 euro. The one from Barratt is priced at 485 euro.
They both look the same on the pictures tho. Will give it a shot with the Ford part since it a lot cheaper.
I managed to find a mention of this in the service record from last year. Car was at the official Jaguar Land Rover dealership here in UAE and they made this bypass since the replacement part was not available at that time. Dodgy repair by official service center if you ask me.
In order to change this part out, I need to drain both oil and coolant, right?

Worth investigating.
An oil change is a given as you will be disconnecting the filter. Coolant loss can probably be limited by temporarily blanking the hoses but I'd take the opportunity to do a flush and refill.

Hello forum
Soon it will be time to change oil on my XK and I would like to use that opportunity to replace the leaky oil cooler.
I managed to find an original part on ebay under this code: AJ810959 but they are asking 500$ for it.
I also managed to find a Ford part under this code: 2C2Z6A642CC for 80$
As far as I am concern they both look exactly the same. What do you guys think? Will this Ford part work in this application?

The Ford part appears just a bit smaller than the Jag part, in that the number of ribs on the cooler is less. I have an extra cooler that I bought from a breaker years ago off a 4.2L XK (for a project that I’m finally getting back to), and it has the same number of ribs as the advertised Jag cooler.
