I wanted to use BG 44K but it's not for sale here in Canada and very expensive there are alot of other ones on Amazon
I am wondering which I should use are these fuel system cleaners all pretty much the same?
Does the Jaguar require certain type? or any of the popular ones will do? Red Line , Liqui Moly , STP , Royal Purple
JaguarXJL15, I have a recommendation and you can take this for what it is worth. If you find yourself using the same brand of gasoline all the time, switch brands for a tank or two. What I mean by this is if you always fill up the car using say "Shell". For a tank or two, find say a "BP" or "Wawa" stations and fill up there. This is the concept, each brand has "their blend of additives that provide 'great' cleaning". Yes, each of them do a pretty good job, but each one does not get 100% of the contaminants. But, because they each use different additives, by switching, what is missed by Brand A, should be gotten by Brand B. Sure, maybe that other station is a bit more expensive per gallon, but you were looking at spending how much on a fuel treatment?
Along the same lines, if you do use a detergent specific treatment that you have to add in separate from the gas, look and see who makes it. For example, if you always fill your car up at Chevron, getting a Techron cleaner is going to be a complete waste of money as the Chevron fuel already has the Techron detergents added into it. So, see what is available, see who makes it, and then make sure that is not who you normally buy gas from.
For me, I tend to fill up my car at a brand called "Wawa". But, when on travel (which is normally every 6 months or so), I make sure to fill the car up with either Shell or Sunoco. Shortly into the tank of the new fuel, I can feel a change. I can also see a slight up tick in the mileage.
