Default Painting your propeller

Has anyone painted their propeller wheels. I can't remember what it is actually called- I think I'm related to Joe Biden... The ones with the carbon fiber inserts. The person I purchased my car from decided to black them out, but he didn't do a very good job prepping because the paint is starting to flake off. He scuffed the paint that was from the factory, and it is going to need to be re-painted. I was thinking of changing them to gold or copper or something that stands out. Has anyone done something like that with these wheels?

They are both a couple idiots, so I'm definitely related to one or the other...
