Default 5w30

Oil test result using 5w30 for the past 2 oil changes, wear metal looks good, not sure where the higher than normal water content is from, oil was taken after a spirited drive. Also not sure why the base number is so low, maybe i need to submit a fresh oil sample for them to compare against?

2015 v8
~3000miles over ~6 winter months, varied driving conditions but nothing extreme like short trips or track events.

liqui moly molygen 5w30

2 bottles of liqui moly MoS2 added (i have later found this combination is overkill on the moly and is not recommended by liqui moly, i have changed the additive to their ceratec for the current oil change)

I'm not an expert, but I suspect the increased wear came from the friction modifiers. Generally as friction goes down, wear increases.

Personally I'd never run pour in oil additives because you can buy a quality oil with the viscosity and additive package you are searching for.

There is no increased wear, all non-highlighted values are within normal parameters. Pretty happy with the numbers, gonna get another one done next year.

i came to similar conclusion on the oil additives but figured it wouldn’t hurt to to have a little more slippery stuff in the oil. Wether it really helps or not is another (lengthy) subject and will probably never reach an end.

I don't run any additives but I do run 5w30 because it's 107 out right now and I don't feel the oe weight provides enough protection for the conditions here. I noticed on my second drive that the engine was noticeable quieter after the change. Was happy with that but won't get my first Blackstone for another few months.
