I recently purchased a Jaguar XJ6 from an estate that came with some Jaguar spare parts. The owner had among other cars a 1962 Mark X I have 4 calipers but no markings from Dunlop or Girling. They look like E-Type Series 1 but that may be the same as a 1962 Mark X. Any help in identifying them? Monza275
Nothing like I've ever seen for Jaguar brakes of this era. The two tubular lugs on the outside of the wheel cylinders are very puzzling.
The technical term for parts like these is "wheel cylinder". These, bolted to the wheel cylinder carrier casting, make up a caliper.

Found them ! They are very early Dunlop cylinders fitted on the Mk 1 saloon and the XK150 when disc brakes came out in the 50s. See here: https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#.../assembly/6076
and https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...assembly/23470
The brake pad was circular and fitted inside a casting with a circular housing. These were a perfect PITA, because the whole caliper had to come off to replace the pads, hence the later type we are all familiar with.
