Purchased a sweet looking 2004 S-type 2.7d about two months ago. Been fixing minor issues here and there, and the car is currently undergoing a complete fluid change, with just the transmission and coolant left.
I've been reading the forums past few weeks without registering, and so far the posts have been very very helpful, and gotta say I've also learned a thing or two about these beautiful cars. Got no past experience fixing or servicing cars, but I am very eager to learn, and with all the manuals and tutorials online anything seems possible.
Discovered a few minor leaks in the coolant system. To be specific the auxiliary water pump & thermostat housing outlet (octopus looking plastic part). But thankfully the loss of coolant is barely noticeable.
Also there is seems to be a leak in the transmission
oil cooler lines which I am most worried about. As a temporary fix the plan was to check the fluid level, top it up and then fix the leaks and replace the hoses as needed.
