'95 XJS V12 6.0 L Source, make, model, alternator

Seeking any pointers for tracking down the right make, model, acceptable AMPS, (115, 120, even 140-150 would that damage other electronics, modules, if fused?). Have tried all of the usual suspects (SNG, Moss, Welsh, Pauls, and secondaries as well, Jaguar Heaven, AdvanceAuto, Auto Zone...) Even though they show the Jag, Denso, Bosch, CarQuest, Duralast models that claim "this fits," they actually don't! My Mechanic (Jag specialist... or extortionist ;-) indicates need single round back with one eyelet, not two for mounting. I've looked over strings that go way back in time. May be a current (no pun intended) inventory issue. Anyone???

I would ask your mechanic to send you a photo of the alternator so you can compare it to others or even show specialist suppliers or post on here. Alternatively see if you can get hold of a part catalogue for your year of car- check ebay they are still available. As far as I know there was not much changes to the alternate housing when they upgraded to the 6.0L and even the TWR model used the standard factory unit. If you can post pictures then I compare to my catalogue, sadly my copy is security protected so wont let me print off or save any part to PDF.

As always, just go to Jaguar's Parts website first to get the right part number. Here's a link to the late 6.0 Alternator pages:

Good luck

If all else fails have your existing alternator repaired. Most larger cities have a repair shop specializing in alternator and starter repair. In your neck of the woods it looks like this outfit might be one

Just went though this. Every alt I ordered, even when using the correct p/n arrive wrong. As far as I know if you order the 1994 /1995 V12 alt you will most likely get the incorrect part.
Solution:
XJ6 inline 6 alt from the same year is the same, internally. The case is different on the V12 so you can buy a inline 6 version and swap over the internals. If you need help with this as a service DM me
