Xkrs vin numbers

Xkrs vin numbers
Hello Jaguar Forum members I hope you can help me get to the bottom of finding out more about my XKRS Convertible.
I am very lucky to have what I believe is perhaps the last XKRS White Convertibles ever produced.
I would like to know if it actually is the last one to roll off the Castle Bromwich line in 2014.( It is within the last 400 XK's made with date first registered 02.10.2014 ).
I know that only 168 convertibles were made worldwide between the years 2012 to 2014.
My Vin for the Car SAJAC48S2FMB*****
The production number on the Vin is within the last 400 XK/XKR/XKRS Cars made so it must have been produced in 2014 and not held back by a Jaguar dealership.
When I have looked further in to deciphering the Vin I have noticed that the year designator is 'F'
As I understand 168 Cabriolets were made worldwide the breakdown as follows in the Jaguar Forum posts.
2012 = 78 Convertibles.
2013 = 90 Convertibles.
2014 = 0 Convertibles ( Production of all XKR Models stopped May 2014)
This accounts for all of the 168 ever made yet when you look at my Vin the 10th digit denoting the year of build is 'F'
E year is 2014
F year is. ???
My car was registered on the 2nd October 2014.
Can anyone explain the anomaly above.
The 'F' designation year has to be incorrect it cannot be 2015.????
Could the 'F' designation relate to a specific month in 2014 maybe the last month of production ?
If the car is within the last 400 XK's would they have made this number monthly in 2014?
Does anyone know the total monthly production Jan,Feb,March,April,May 2014 ?
The car is registered on the V5C as a White XKRS Convertible with engine number last 6 digits 5508PS so it is 550 BHP and must be an XKRS
It also has all the full carbon fiber extras.
If anyone shed light on this matter I would be most grateful.
Thanks,
Philip.

You can get the information you seek from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. They are in the UK. Email them at shop@jaguarheritage.com with your car's VIN and ask your question. They will charge you less then $100 if they can provide the information. Your XKRS will need to be ten+ years old. If it doesn't qualify they will refund your fee. Good luck.

@X4XKR Welcome to the Forum, Philip. You'll find lots of knowledgeable and helpful members here. Your Public Profile shows your country as KY, which is the abbreviation for the Cayman Islands. Is that correct, or are you in the State of Kentucky, USA? You also need to create a signature, as detailed in this thread:

What VIN decoding tool are you using?
At least through the 90s Jaguar (and others) used different VIN protocols depending on what market the car was intended for. Thus, not all VINs are in the same format; the placement and meaning of characters is different. Meanwhile, most online VIN decoders (if that's what you're using) pertain only to the North American VIN system. You'll enter a VIN and the results just don't make sense. This has led to lots of confusion over the years.
I don't know if this scenario would be possible in your case. Others will chime in.
Cheers

Neither his body code (48) nor his "F" model year designator appear in the decoder info.
Seems like the JDHT certificate would be the best bet

Ref: July 2017 Program Data,
The final XKRS Convertibles appear to have been part of the 29th week 2014 production.
Ser # B56339 and B56412. Both were "ROW" rest of the world and right-hand drive.
Interesting, they were the only ECS16 vehicles that week.
F=2015
The transition from 2014 to 2015 appears to have been during the 4th week of 2014.
The 2014-15 transition appears to have been approximately B54680.
In the USA, your vehicle would be titled as a 2015 model.

I had figured out that the F letter was 2015 but you have hit my Vin number right on the head
B56412.
Does this mean my car was the last RHD XKRS off the Castle Bromwich line ?
The 29th Week of 2014 was week commencing 17th July 2014 and the last XK Dynamic ended all XK 150 models on 24th July 2014 8 days later.
Very interesting info and thanks
Btw what is ECS ?

Stephen,
I think that you can reasonably claim "the last XKRS convertible off the assembly line" since it was one of two in the "last week" of XKRS convertible production and it had the higher VIN.
ECS = Emission Control System. ECS16 appears to be unique to the XKRS.
End of production: I suspect that means beginning assembly as opposed to completion of assembly.
It appears that "final production" included "run of the mill" XKs and XKRs over the next month or so.
Likely vehicles that failed final inspection or last-minute dealer orders.

Thank you for this very interesting information and confirming that I have a very rare XKRS Convertible
and even more collectible since it was the last to ever be produced at Castle Bromwich.
If you don't mind me asking how did you find out such detailed information?
Do you work within the JLR worldwide customer service network?
Many thanks once again.
Kind regards,
Stephen.

Hi Bill,
I have one final question.
The information I have found puts total XKRS Convertible production at 168 cars.
2012 = 78
2013 = 90
This has to be incomplete as my car Vin B56412 and at least another with Vin B56339 destined for the rest of world were produced in July 2014.
Do you know how many convertibles were produced in 2014 & 2015 ?
Was the total actually 200 Convertibles so 32 must have been produced in 2014 / 2015 model years?
It would be interesting to find out the total numbers of XKRS Convertibles and also Coupes that were ever produced by JLR.
Hope you can answer this final question?
Thanks,
Stephen.

Hello Stephen,
I'm just an obsessive JLR hobbyist who studies JLR SDD, CAN and associated electronics.
The information provided is hidden in Program Data, SDD V150 from July 2017, as I referenced.
Sorry, I have no special connections and no additional information.
Congratulations on your special vehicle.
Best regards,
Bill
PS: If the XKRS is in KY, I'll be happy to fly down with my laptop and Mongoose Pro to show you some of the finer points of SDD, if you would like to put me up for a few days! Are floral print baggie trunks still in style?
