I inherited by fathers cherished 2003 XJ8 last year, only 70K miles, and he cared more for this car that most people! I have corrected and fixed a few issues and take great pride in caring for his car. I have a short list of a few remaining items that I would like to correct.

I have searched high and low for far too long. Anyone have a source or these parts available? I am looking for (1) rubber grommet for the side scuttle covers. I have attached an image to show where these parts are located and what they look like. The rubber grommet attaches to the engine compartment and there is a plastic attachment on the scuttle that fastens in the rubber grommet to secure the scuttle. This is the first photo.

Also, there is a missing square fastener that secures the middle scuttle piece. See attached image. I have the plastic fastened that inserts on top to secure the middle scuttle cover, but I am missing the square piece underneath that secures it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Look in the Dorman rack at your auto parts store and find the closest match (Maybe ACE hardware, too). If that is your sole complaint, Dad took incredible care . . . I thought mine was pretty cherry, but WOW!

If you had too you could make your own using small diameter hose . . .
