Default Key Transponder Communication Error

Hey, I own a Jaguar XK8 2001 Coupe

Following my need for a ECM replacement so I don't have to wait for my original to get fixed. I got the Jaguar IDS, the VCM everything up and running. It's able to properly read and delete codes, communicate with modules and update code on the vcm when switching computers. So I know everything works fine with it.

Now in IDS, when being prompted to establish introduction with the new donor module from another vehicle, IDS gives an option when faced with the security code dtc code after diagnostics.
After getting to this, or even the immo setup(both has the same thing happening) KTM or the key control module has this error Every time when trying to do the setup with the ECM

Then follows with run iso integrity test.

Here's some other key details, I noticed that Every time it starts the immo or key related tasks, the power in the car either flickers like the light turning on or the steering wheel moving itself.

Even outside of this on a daily basis the automatic mode of the steering wheel would have issues where you have to click 3-4 times to move the steering wheel continuously or else it stops in its tracks.

Sometimes the doors would also get out of sync and then at some point they wouldn't have an issue again after weeks of no issues. The battery in my car is rather new and doesn't have an issue. But I'm open to opinions and exploring what I should do and trobule shooting as KTM trouble is new to me. If it helps I also get codes from the SLM saying Ignition Status Not obtained. If that ties to anything.

I got this far to Putting this ECM in, I'm not going to let the KTM(key control module,) get in my way out of all things this far

Does anyone know how to perform iso integrity test or should I jump the gun and inspect the body control module?

Not a great computer guy but I would check to see if the door flap in the ignition key slot is opening and closing as the key is inserted or taken out.
If sticking at the top, give it a bit of oil or graphite to test for your needs.

VCM with usb and the OBD connection wires, its not the VCM. I'll try motorcarmans advice and get a new key cut, put the ecm in and program it to the car.

The keys are configured, unless you mean after putting the ECM I should configure new keys while its in? I have new uncut keys with new chips, what exactly the procedure for this.

Sorry, I wasnt suggesting the cable was bad. I was actually curious what you were using as I am in a similar situation. Does VCM = Mongoose (or clone equivalent)?

Gotcha and no, VCM is what we use on the older cars with ids for jaguar, ford and honda, either the Teradyne or the Rotunda for new jags with SDD we use Mongoose. Some use (knockoff version) Mangoose which is the clone

You need to program the keys to the car again with the new ECM - look for immobiliser setup.

Update to the forum, following your advice I inserted an existing key from the previous ECM, did the immo setup finished coding, started right up. It finished and solved all the problems.

Thank you!!

Here's some pics for people who find this forum

For anyone that might find themselves needing IDS I have a virtual machine that works, you would just need to get your own VCM, DM if you need the VM file.

If you're local you can hail my services if you're interested Maryland or close .

Well done for persisting with this and finally getting it done. Great idea posting screenshots for the next person to reference - makes it a little less scary when they click on that button.

I assume that Jaguar did it like this to stop potential thieves just swapping out one security module for their own, complete with paired keys, and simply starting the engine with the key. I think that might be a lesson they forgot on the current line up of Range Rovers.
