man what a mess! How is that possible ?
I would not bother with an electrician, what I would do is rent an identical car and copy the wires.

Default Terrible day

It was a terrible day, I was left scratching my head, the hole was 6in deep, 21ft long I hit it at the side of a rural road..

This forum is for the earlier cars that ended production in 1986. You're looking for the X300 forum.

That being said, I would contact Eurojag in Darlington and see if they have a used harness. I can't imagine how that came out from hitting a pothole, and I have disassembled one of those cars! I can say that replacing the harness will be a lot easier than trying to splice together what you have. I believe the yellow encased wire is airbags, so you are lucky they didn't go off.

Thank you for the information. It's very much appreciated . Do you have any idea or estimate how long it would take to replace the near side loom, if there are any particular difficulties.. thank you

No idea how long it woudl take. All depends on how much other damage there is that isn't visible in the photos. The one connector that is visible is quite damaged, it depends on what happened to the mating part, is it damaged too?

I think all of this wire should run inside the engine bay, so how it ever came out is a question and you might find a horror story when you start digging.
