Default Oil Filter Wrench Size

About to perform my first oil change and have ordered the MightyVac and oil filter. As for the oil filter wrench I have been looking all over the forum for the correct size and I keep seeing different sizes - mostly 88, 89 and 90 mm for the wrench. I'm even more confused than when I started. I have a 2017 SVR. Can someone with the same model tell me what size they have used and what brand and/or source you got it from.

The filter wrench is a 90mm 15 flute. There are a few others that will work but this will keep from tearing up the filter cap. I bought mine off of Amazon for like $10 and it works great. Remember to pay attention to the torque specs (25nm or 18.5ftlbs) and remember that your engine takes 6.5 liters of oil, not 7.25 liters. When refilling, start with less than what you took out and slowly work your way up to make sure you do not have an overflow. The mityvac will give you a good start. If it says you took out 6.25 liters, thats how much to put back in at minimum.

I have this one and it works perfectly. Note that it's an 89mm 15-flute:

I'm going to order both the 89 and 90 mm sizes and see which one snugs up better and send the other one back. Thank you, Amazon Prime.
This is why I was confused - different sizes and yet they all work great? And I do realize that 1 mm difference is not much.

89mm definitely fits snug so 90mm probably has just a little bit of play in it. It's about a 1% size difference so either should work.

SVR or not makes no difference, every F-Type V8 and V6 uses the exact same oil filter canister and filter.
I went through the same search as you back in 2014 and I worked out much the same as you - gotta be 15 flutes but the size seems to vary between 88, 89 and 90 mm.
One thing I worked out was that a "type 907" ie 89 mm was the best fit, see here for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/22613182011...Bk9SR5anh6fJZA
I bought a 907 that turned out to have both 88 and 89 mm sizes via a stepped top, and the larger part (ie 89 mm) fits perfectly.
Moral of the story - look for a type 907.

Just to verify:

The 90mm/15 flute one that I have fits fine, no danger of damaging the canister.

If you can't read the part number because of the reflections, it is 0618, made by Steelman.
