Default plug/socket disconnent

Starting to pull intake for hose replacement, looks like 120K miles+heat+previous mechanics have really taken a toll on many plastic connectors and plugs.
I'm trying to be 'gentle' and not break any more but for the life of me I cannot separate this assembly.
Does is simply pull apart or ?
Please help.
thank you.

I unclipped those a few weeks ago and can be a bit of a pig but it is a matter of jiggling apart whilst pressing down on something, but I can't remember which part exactly. On most of these connectors, including these, I use a small sharp right-angled pick to push or press down on the locking tab directly. If you examine it carefully you will spot which part needs to be "hooked" or "pressed" to release the bendy tab from the locking ramp.

I think there is another one on the other side of the intake manifold so try that one as well as it might be looser and you will then be able to see how the mechanism works.

I'm still lost, the red portion slides and I assumed that when I slid it forward (as in the photo) it would release the plug but it has not. I have probed but there isn't any movement.

I was under the impression that slid to the edge was always Locked. The tab (wherever it is) would still need to be depressed. Course my old brain dis-remembers things all the time now.

Off topic, but I'm amazed how many different types of electric connectors are on this car, each with it's own unique method of disconnection.
