Trickle charger for 2021 F type
My car keeps reading low battery . I usually drive it about everyr 10 days. We are going on a 21 day vacation and would like to t=put a trickle charger on it. Some say most trickle chargers will work. I have one from a corvette I owned a while back. Will that work and , if so, how do I connect it?
If not what chatrger is recommended and any details would be helpful.
Thanks for any thoughts!

CTEK and NOCO make battery maintainers that are well respected. The battery maintainer needs to have an AGM mode so your existing one may not be appropriate.
Chances are, given how stupid the BMS in the car is, you are not giving the battery a proper charge by driving it every once in a while. So I’d recommend getting the maintainer and get used to keeping the car plugged in going forward.

Scott: Be aware that a trickle charger is NOT what you need. You need a battery maintainer (such as the CTEK units) because they can be left connected indefinitely (a year or more if needed!) with no overcharging, ever, and thus no damage to the battery.
The connection procedure is easy but it varies according to the model year. Your car has a battery monitoring system so one connection (+) is made there and one (-) to any stud on the trunk floor. There are threads regarding the connection which will make this easy process clear.

I found a CTEK Multi US 3300 Battery Charger for lead-acid batteries 2-90Ah. that I used for my Corvette before I sold it. I called Jag parts dept. and they said it should work fine but to use the clips and not the cigarette plug.
I will wait for any mor thoughts before I do it. They will be appreciated!!

In the event you might be interested, here is a link for how I hooked mine up for quick connect/disconnect… No need to open the hood or boot. This has worked out perfectly for me —>

Make sure after you park the car that the warning triangle on the dash goes out after ten minutes. If not your battery is being drained. To correct the issue disconnect one of the battery cables for a minute and then reconnect it. This is a known issue with the F-Type. It has been documented here many times.

The cigaret lighter does NOT function for this. Do not use the clips - that is just a nuisance, but OK for occasional charging. You want the CTEK unit working whenever your car is not in use! Your pattern of use does not allow the alternator to keep the battery charged.
It is child’s play to connect the CTEK wires permanently; after that 5 minute job, the business of connecting and disconnecting as needed takes 3 seconds at most! The instructions for connection are clearly laid out in the various threads on this subject.

Sir, you need a new AGM battery . Your car's battery will not drain in 10 days. I went on vacation for 3 weeks without driving my 2018 XF and it started without a trickle charger. FYI: It has an Interstate H7 AGM battery which is only 3 years old
