haha its ok Dennis you know i respect you, as it said he needed new tires, id only do it to mine before i replaced them, ive never once turned the DSC off to be honest on mine, it has enough trouble with it on keeping traction, i wish i could turn it down a little but keep it on

Lol I've been trying to disable my DSC for the longest time.. I hate a computer telling me what I can and cannot do.. [:@]
The only thing I cant figure out is how he got it to do a burnout with such ease?
I know he was footbraking it, but how did he get the tires to start spinning?
My car won't let you rev over 1400rpm when your holding the brake at a standstill.. its like it retards the power because it knows what your trying to do..
I was actually considering putting a manual proportioning valve in so I could turn off the rear breaks if I wanted to, just to be able to do a burnout..

lol I beat my cat pretty damn hard and shes still okay*knock on wood* (she might even like it [8D])... probably gets redlined 15-45 times a day and street raced a couple times a week.. just make sure you do all of your maintenance BEFORE your supposed to and make sure you have a good warranty.

can these new jags take the abuse a little ? or are they semi fragile

I dunno about the new-ish Jags. The oldies I am accustomed to are really tough old cats. I sometimes tease people that they drive their Jag "as though it was made out of glass". I never hesistate to give 'em the boot whenever the mood strikes....which is fairly often. And sometimes, darn it,that means leaving a couple black stripes on the road even though....ahem...I never really intend to (is anyone buying any of this?)
OTOH, I think some of this stationary burn-out stuff is too much of a fun thing. It just seems abusive to me. Or maybe it's "un-Jaguar like". I dunno. It just doesn't seem right in a Jag like it would in someone's old '67 SS396.
OTOOH, Ibelieve in lettingeveryone have their fun. Just keep your mitts off my car.
OTOOOH maybe Jaguar needs a little dose of this in their advertising to remind the world that Jags actually have ***** and not just giant heaps of "elegance".
How's all that for straddling the fence ?
Cheers

This is his personal car RIGHT?
This is his personal car RIGHT?
Just kidding.
A few years ago, when I was on a Mustang forum, some dealer techs made a video of them driving a guy's Mustang like madmen.....just driving the **** outta the thing....and then posted it !
I guess they never thought that the owner just might be a member of the forum!
Well, he was....and herecognized it as his car and, boy, was there hell to pay !
99% of dealer techs are responsible people, though.
Cheers

Holy crap that was a good burnout! Years ago, when I was young and foolish, a bunch of my friends put a Line Lok system on their cars and did some pretty awesome burnouts. They would come up to a stop sign, engage the Line Lok and fry their tires for about 30 seconds or so and then release the Line Lok and slowly move away still frying their tires. Great fun to watch and glad it was their money and not mine.

I am no longer a fan of burnouts, kind of boreing, along with doughnuts. I will agree that it is a good way to get rid of old tires though.
For the record, newer supercharged Jags can easily do a burnout and depending on the surface and XKR is capable of leaving 153ft strips (2) with a hard launch (according to the police report [sm=icon_rofl.gif] ). I have never broken anything on any Jaguar that I have driven.
The power can easily out-muscle the rear brakes.
