Talking Fresh wash and wax

Here's "Midnight", a 2002 2.5 XType with a fresh wash and waxed/buffed with the new buffer I got for Christmas. Since it was 60 out today I thought you all would enjoy some pics of the kitty getting some sun.

Why don't you come down to Meridian, Mississippi? We love outsiders especially from Sunny South Carolina! Great pics there boy, I need to put a nice coat on my car and she'll purring in a heart beat.

God Bless!

Looks great. Did you do anything with the interior? I find that I always give my exterior a lot of attention, but the interior gets neglected! I spent 2 hours or so vacuuming and cleaning (with detailing interior brushes) every crumb out of the interior this weekend. Also wiped down all the windows, every surface in the car, treated the leather in the doors, dash and seats with Lexol. Also spent a couple hours or so with some Woolite dilution and a sponge cleaning the lambswool rugs.

Now it looks fantastic inside and out!

Check the Detailing / Car care - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section.

Some of the guys are fanatical on choice of choice of shampoo, polish, wax and glaze. The results are phenomenal and often better than when the vehicle was first delivered.

Even if you don't want to go to that level, learning about how to wash the vehicle properly, clean it thoroughly with clay bar, rectify minor scratches and protect with wax will keep it looking like it's just come out of the showroom.

+1 on Graham's good advice.

Having read many many detailing articles over the last few years and also having issues such as swirl marks on my own car to deal with, I suggest as follows.......

Probably one of the single biggest things you can do to protect your cars finiish, is learn how to wash it properly.....the do's and don'ts!

Gergs - Hope you don't mind a suggestion......

A little tyre black applied will really make a big difference to the overall look od the vehicle once she's shined up like that

I suppose the automated car wash is a no-no? Some of us city-folk have an 8x18 foot piece of property 60 ft underground to call our own. I tried dragging my lawn chair, beer cooler and flat screen down to the parking garage but I couldn't find an electrical outlet No lazy afternoons washing the car in my driveway! What's the consensus on automated washes? I did it last week, but I felt so guilty.
