Hi Guys,
I'm in Maghull, that's North Liverpool for those who don't know. A meet sounds great, I've just spent the last 20 years in MG Owners club, and know loads of great runs around the North West if anyone's interested. The 16th Jan sounds good to me for a meet. Perhaps if it can be finalised, the regional co-ord will post to us all to verify. This post has opened my eyes, as there are only 8 or 9 members in the Northern social group.
How about it?

Hi Nor' Westers !
I think it would be prudent to wait a bit until after Christmas before a final date and venue is agreed, the weather can be really awful at this time of year, however, if it looks as if things are turning out good, I will put a post up and the venue will be the place I mentioned, namely car park at Barley on the side of Pendle Hill. I will post with title "Meet - Barley by Pendle Hill"

North West meet
A reconnaisance of Barley took place last Saturday, when it was found that half the car park had been taken over by United Utilities to store machines and pipes whilst a water main was installed. The rest of the car park was full and remained so. A local resident told me it would be occupied about 8 weeks. Barley is very popular at weekends even in the pouring rain. In view of this, I thought an alternative venue could be (1) Formby Beach car park, or (2) New Brighton Promenade. Formby Beach is a large car park but there are no facilities at all.
Does anybody have other suggestions ? Ideally we need somewhere with at least a cafe and toilets, (not a supermarket car park, though !)

In view of the current weather forecast, this weekend is not looking promising. However, Lytham isn't a bad spot for a meet. Plenty of free sea front parking. Good cafes and one of the best fish and chip shop/restaurants I've had the pleasure of eating in. Excellent choice of retail outlets for those passengers with less interest in cars than us. We could certainly do worse.
Gets my vote Richard.
