Default The dreaded limp mode

Hi guys,
The X type estate diesel I got is still in limp mode, despite the garage going through procedures pretty logically so far. All filters changed and cut open to check inside - clean as a whistle at that end (fuel, air and oil filters). The solenoid valve was showing up as shot, and looked pretty bad so that was changed. Still limp. So tested the injectors, and 2 were bad the other 2 marginal, so all 4 changed and recoded. Still limp. Checked fuel tank - shavings in there. So, the diesel pump is going to be changed - which makes sense, reading about what their service life is. Only thing - what if we are still in limp mode after all that? What else is there left to change? The error codes are all to do with fuel system, but could it be elsewhere and showing there spuriously? If so, where do we go from here? I would like this car to work as it is really needed for travel next year. Any thoughts would be welcome. Cheers!

One regular culprit for throwing spurious or illogical codes on any modern Jaguar is a partially discharged or failing battery. It may not be this but worth testing and eliminating as a possible cause. In addition, specifically with the X-Type, the battery leads are known to break up at the terminal ends with similar odd consequences.

Thanks Graham - a nice easy one to check, and my garage are auto electric specialists, so that should be easy to do. I am also thinking to check the air pipes leading to turbo as if those are split or cracked that can change the air mixture and result in limp mode as I found in a Volvo V70 I had at one time,

YES - air leaks from failed inlet tract is another favourite.
