Welcome to the forum sulu,

An excellent reason to join. Apart from the opportunity of meeting other members, our Admin (Jim) has arranged a couple of very interesting visits for the day.

Thanks for also posting an Intro in the New Member Area.

I am in Fife so distance not an issue.
Provided date doesn't clash with other commitments I would be happy to attend.

C'mon guys, get your name added and pop along.

The factory tour and presentation at Mackies alone should make it worthwhile, plus the chance at forum discount for auto transmission . rear diff services etc.

I should be in a better position to speak with both Mackies and Prestige mid week next week so should have a better idea od timescales at that time

UPDATE..........................Thats the crux of it as it stands, but we can change / amend as necessary moving forward.
I'd suggest that it may be of interest to anyone within a 60 mile radius, but I'm sure we can try to work something out for those willing to travel further distances.

12/02/14 - I was in Prestige Jaguar in Paisley today, the big cat getting checked out and an oil change done.
Ian and Dougie are two great guys, very friendly and I can see a relationship forming there already. They have a great little setup and Jags absolutely everywhere, with tons of work on the go.
In fact so much so that they are looking to move to premises at least twice the size a few doors away and installing 6 lifts....

I'm looking to book into Mackies Transmissions and pay them a visit in the next week or so too.

I feel sure they could be a great service shop to use for anyone in the central belt of Scotland, for sure.

Please add you name to the list if interested.......

Please keep em coming guys, absolutely the more the merrier

Update - I have made some of the Audi guys aware, they suffer with the same issues on the ZF boxes so it may also be relevant to them too........There seems to be several that may be interested.

Perhaps a cross meet of car enthusiasts?

Easy done when you're rich. What else can we expect from someone who has a turntable in his garage........

Nice one Caldoofy, be great to see you there if you can make it.

Maybe you and Graham could make your own little convoy?

I'll check on the price for you Caldoofy, I'm trying to see if I can get some type of discount for forum members....

Please keep checking this thread for more details..........................

Update - called in to see Mackies Transmissions today and had my gearbox serviced, took around 2 hours or so.

Had no real issues to be fair, perhaps a small lurch from 1st occasionally but smooth other than that. I'm not sure if its my imagination but it seems smoother, the lurch seems to have gone and the changes maybe just a little quicker?

I had the opportunity for a mini factory tour lead by the various heads of dept and all I can say is wow, really really interesting and in depth. There's clearly been a lot of investment in equipment and many years of knowledge and experience onboard.

I have some issues with my rear diff ( apparent when I bought the car and accounted for ) and it will be going back in to get this resolved shortly.
Thank you Mackies for a job well done.

We have set a date of 29th March 2014 from 10am - 12pm

I'm also thinking for afterwards, any of those that are interested, we could head on over to The Innkeepers Lodge at Strathclyde Park, this is a Toby Carvery and offers a carvery meal for £5.99
There should also be ample parking and would be a good opportunity to discuss the days events and a chance to get to know other members.

Provisionally here from 1pm until 3pm

Sadly I will be unable to attend as I'm out of the country on the 29th, not returning till the 14th April.

Keep my name down for any future tours....

Thanks Graham,
its literally just off the M74 at the Strathclyde Park exit Jnctn 5.

From Mackies to Stathclyde Park is around 9 miles and about 10-15 mins, nearly all motorway.
Access North, South, East or West for all from this point heading home.
