Default Ireland calling

Hi there, just wondering if we have any other members here from Ireland. I'm in the south and I know there are a few up north, so maybe some day I'll have to take a trip up and say hello, but in the meanwhile, do I have any closer neighbours? Thanks.

Thanks Jim - love this site, although only getting started and only in read-only mode so far. Love it, especially the tech and DIY info.

I am in Lucan, outside Dublin, Ireland. Have a '97 XK8 which I am tackling rust on (rear arches and behind the bumper). It's going in for a respray soon - pretty much settled on either Jaguar's Lunar Grey or Vapour Grey colour

Hey Tony, greetings and welcome.

I used to be based in Kerry but am now living in Roscrea so not a million miles away. You should find a wealth of info and opinions on here to help you get on the road. Tell us more about your car, what it needs doing etc. and dont be afraid to ask any questions either. Happy motoring!!

I Have an X type 2.0 Diesel 04 Reg (UK Import), a crow committed hari-kiri on the driver's side front headlamp a couple of week's ago and broke the len's cover on the outside unit.
The Glass is broken but the light's working at the moment , I've been trying to get a second hand headlamp set for the car (without much success), so if anyone on the site can help, please message me !

Default Irish meet?

Just wondering if anyone knows of, or may be planning a meet at any time for our Irish members. Any thoughts?

Howdy... I'm from Lucan but living in Scotland now. I'm planning on taking my XK8 for a spin over to Lucan in July. Whereabouts do you live?

Hi Brian and welcome to the forum, did you introduce yourself in the "New Members" section? Go say hello to everyone! Anyway, welcome aboard to one of the best owners/admirers forums, with plenty of usefu linfo and very helpful members. Jump in and enjoy.

PS We almost have enough Irish members to organise our very own mini meet, worth thinking about before the evenings close in altogether?

Good call on the meet Sogood.......including you there looks to be 9 in total posted in the roll call thread, 5 listed as Ireland and 4 from Dublin.

There will be more on the site who have not made it here as yet and added to the roll call.

Doing an advanced member search shows 42 members listed as being in Ireland and 11 listed as being in Dublin.

If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know

Plus there's always the multidenominational Octane.ie Cars and Coffee meets that happen every first Sunday of the month at Cherrywood, outside Dublin

Yes, thanks for that. We could indeed always muscle in on another meet, just a chance to show and shine and chew the fat. My work commitments ties up most of my weekends until about mid october, but somtimes a window presents itself. So, going along to an existing meet is possible at short notice, as opposed to trying to organise something for which you never know if you'll be available or not. Looking like I might be around next weekend 1st/ 2nd September. I dont mind travelling, any excuse in fact!
