Hi all
My son has a problem with his car, Jaguar xj 351 diesel, all electric. 2011 model.
He explained to me that he got into the car, leaned over to the passenger side to get something while holding steering wheel and something at the steering wheel clicked.
He tried to start the car, he says it tried for a second then dashboard lights went off and the car is now dead, no power to the dashboard, nothing.
I am thinking firstly that he may have shorted something and a fuse has blown, or maybe hes done something to the
steering lock.
If its the latter then why would cause a power loss to the car.
Any info on sorting out this problem and where to start looking? car doors all open but the boot is locked.
Kind regards

I managed to fix my lads problem, it was a loose battery + connection.
I couldnt open the boot with the car being dead even with a donor battery connected to live and earth under the bonnet.
Had to remove the back seat unplug a inline connector and supply a live feed from donor battery + to the inline connector (the single pin male side) and battery - to a ground to open the boot.
Tightened up the battery + connection and the car came back to life.
Thanks again
