Default The JaguarForumsUK Great British Day Out is back!!

Hi All,

I know things have been very quiet regarding our Great British Day Out, but much the same as with everyone else, a lot of things have happened in the past couple of years, and organisation of our event took a bit of a back seat after our May 2021 event.. however.....

JaguarForumsUK are really happy and pleased to announce that our 2022 event is very much on the go!! We have been receiving a high level of attendee bookings, and whilst we do still have a good supply of available places at our event, that supply is steadily dwindling - so booking as early as you can is the only way to guarantee a place at our event this year.

Despite the UK having the highest level of inflation in years, we have managed to keep the cost to register your Jaguar at our event to the 'usual' £5 - not only an inflation buster but if you bring three passengers with you that works out to just £1.25p per person *and* we are a not for profit event, so after operating costs all profits go to our chosen charity - so not only do you potentially get a Great British Day Out for £1.25, you are also supporting charity too - what more could you ask for? :-)

As always we have FREE trade stand plots available - so if you support Jaguars and their owners, why not come along and meet everyone? All you need to do is fill in our simple online application form on the event website and a plot is all yours...

If you would like to grab an attendee slot at our 2022 event, are a trader looking for a trade plot, or would like to work with us please pop over to our event website at www.jaguarforumsuk.com and say Hello.

If you have been to one of our annual events before please note that we have streamlined a lot of our processes, and the booking system is way, way easier than ever before, and not only can you use our event website to book attendee slots, but also book trade stands, order brochures and loads more...

Welcome to our first truly post Covid lockdowns event - we really look forward to welcoming you on the day :-)

Time for your first weekly update on how things are looking for our May 29th Great British Day Out for everyone....

Things are very tough currently with many businesses still struggling so we really have a lot of work on, to try to encourage businesses to get involved with us this year.

We are currently offering free trade plots, along with free advertising, and more to encourage business involvement.

We do have a limited number of places available this year and places are being taken up quite quickly, but if you are quick you can still guarantee your place at our 2022 event.

This year we have a number of clubs involved with their own club areas on site - if your club hasn't signed up with us yet why not ask them to get in touch? We currently offer free allocated plots to clubs that are registered with the event, and members can sign up for their specific slot, with branded Access Passes too :-) So if your club hasn't registered with the event see if you can encourage them to..

Meanwhile here are the stats I have for you so far:

We already have 90 Jaguars signed up for this years event.
We have Jaguars spanning from 1959 through to 2019

1 x 420
1 x Daimler Super Eight
2 x E-type
8 x F-Type
1 x Mark II
7 x S-Type
3 x XE
11 x XF
25 x XJ
22 x XK
9 x X-Type

Please note that in this particular case I have not split groups down fully as in XJ, XJR, XJS etc but this gives you a fair idea of what we already have for you.

We have two, maybe three traders confirmed as signed up with us, but we are actively looking to our event sponsors and specialists that we know and trust, and are also happy to talk to any specialists interested in what we have to offer them.

As you know we are not for profit, and this year we are again supporting the Chestnut Tree House Hospice so where we not only offer incredible value for money (£1.25 per person when 4 in a Jag) we also make it go a long way, keeping the event going, supporting charity, and giving you a great day out :-)

For those of you looking for accomodation for the event, we already have things in place for you with our recommended accomodation supplier - the link is available on the 2020 Event page on the event website.

If you are looking to travel to the event from outside the UK please get your booking in with us ASAP and should there be problems nearer the time we will refund you fully without question, so you can be reassured it is safe to book with our event.

That's it for this week :-)

Hi there,

OK, it is time for an update on how our event is developing and how things are looking for the day itself...

We have Jaguars spanning from 1959 through to 2021.

We have the following numbers of Jaguar models currently booked - noting that I have temporarily merged sub models and generations under each main model, however this should give you an idea of what models you can see on the day:

1 x Mk II
1 x Daimler Super V8
1 x D-Type Replica
2 x E-Type
12 x F-Type
8 x S-Type
3 x XE
12 x XF
29 x XJ (including the model Ilove the most - the X308)
28 x XK
9 x X-Type

We also have a fair degree of healthy competitiveness between clubs that have booked club Zones with us:

Jaguar Breakfast Club has 37 places booked
Jaguar Drivers Club (Kent) has 5 places booked
Jaguar Enthusiasts Club has 12 places booked
XKEC/F-TypeEC has 14 places booked
XJR Drivers Club has 3 places booked
X-Type Ownesr Clyb UK has 7 places booked

If your club is one of the above, please remember you can always book a place in their Club zone if you state this on your Registration, and help their numbers.

If you are with a club that is not showing at our event, ask them to register with us for their own FREE Club zone, and get them known with our attendees.

If you want to know who and what is attending our 2022 event, please take a look at the event website - we are (to the best of my knowledge) the only event that carries images and text descriptions of attending Jaguars so you can see before the event, what you are likely to get to see on the day as well as knowing who will be attending.

Finally, please remember that JaguarForumsUK is very much not for profit, supports charity, and for our Great Day Out, if you have three passengers in your Jaguar, it works out at just £1.25 per person for the convoy and main event making our event not only incredible value, but also helping us not only to help you, but charity too :-)

Hi there, It would be fantastic if you wanted to - just go to the event website and you will find a Donation page there - we are very much not-for-profit, and are supporting a charity in the local community with all funds above and over our event costs - just google JaguarForumsUK and you will find us there :-)

OK Guys,

I have been a complete hermit for months, and almost completely offline, but have still been working way on things and realised that I haven't published the event stats - not just the mini ones like the one in the post above, but the full stats so you have the full picture of our 2022 event..

So, grab yourself a cup of tea, or maybe coffee, a comfy cushion and settle in for everything you wanted to know about this years event... :-)

X-Type x 17

Of these, 77 are listed in our Attendees Gallery so you can actually see who is coming on the day too.

Our event has seen a big reduction in it's levels of sponsorship due to Covid lockdowns, supply issues and inflation, all hitting our sponsors, but we have been working harder than ever, keeping the Event Registration cost at just £5 per Jaguar, wih all funds after running costs, still going to an incredible local charity.

We are still running the convoy/drive element as well as the main event at Denbies, offering you a Great British Day Out wih prizes to be won, awards to win, great company, incredible cars, specialists on site that we know and trust, and more.

We have the largest range of Jaguars attending, that we have ever had the pleasure of hosting at our event, and we really look forward to meeting everyone on the day.

If you have not yet signed up for our annual event - please consider doing so.. our event is unique in so many ways and connects you at a grassroots level not just to the Jaguar community but also clubs, groups, memberships, dealers, specialists and suppliers right through the year.

Just google JaguarForumsUK and you will find our website with all the event info, registration forms for this years event, product reviews, Global registers covering everything you need, possibly the largest Jaguar trivia quiz online that certifies your knowledge and educates you and so much more.

We look forward to seeing you on the day :-)

p.s. Sorry this is soooo long, but we have such an incredible day out for you this year - very grassroots, very laid back, but lots happening, great company and you never know it could be you with a prize or award on your mantelpiece for the next year :-)

Hi Kevin, Thankyou so very much for your support - this year in particular we are struggling to meet our annual costs, let alone make a contribution to charity of the size we would like to be able to do.. so Thankyou very, very much for your help

We are looking for event marshals to help us on the day at Pease Pottage Services and at Denbies Wine Estate.

Could you help out for half an hour or so at the start of things to help us get everyone where they need to be safely and stress free?

In exchange you get a Marshals Access Pass, a chance to wear one of our JaguarForumsUK High Viz Vests, and by virtue of being there ahead of the rush you get your choice of the parking spots we have available

If you have already registered for our event you can still get your Access Pass switched up to a Marshals Access Pass - just let me know and I will get you swapped over

We are looking for ten marshals to help us - could one of those ten people be you?

If you feel able to help, please drop a line to me at stephen.sheldon@jaguarforumsuk.com

THANKYOU

Hi Everyone,

It is a wet and grey Sunday, when I should be going through the event equipment to make sure we have everything we need but in this weather no chance - so I thought it was a good time to go over what I know a number of you look for in our event - the stats and how we are doing into the buildup to the day itself.

Denbies have confirmed our booking, and you will be happy to know that we have managed to retain the 10% discount on lunch for everyone despite the current financial climate. A massive thankyou to them for this. Please make sure you pick up your discount voucher at Registration on the day as Denbies will require you to produce it.

Our levels of sponsorship have literally dropped off a cliff this year due to businesses struggling with not just the Covid lockdowns we all experienced but now with inflationary issues, supply issues and more.. so we have been very heavily dependent on your Registration fees, donations and the few companies that have remained with us, this year.. so please bear with us on the day, as we are working with way less resources than usual.

In comparison we have more clubs involved than ever this year - a massive Thankyou to them, and to their membership that made them aware of us.

If you are aware of any clubs, suppliers, or specialists that are not yet listed in our Global registers please let us know and we will get them added in for you.

We will be running the Jaguar Trivia Challenge LIVE on the day again this year, so you may want to check out the online version of the Quiz and start prepping so you can win the cup!!

OK, here is the bit you have been waiting for.. the event stats, as they stand at this moment in time..
