LPG
Hi,
Anyone out there running a X308 on LPG, is it good or bad.
Was going to convert but had my mind changed by a few bad reports and Gary at Swallows Jaguar where I bought the car from was not a fan and to be honest 22mpg which what I'm getting is pretty good.
Used to have a Jeep Cherokee 4.0,lpg was ok but the rest of it just fell apart.
Anyway your views(good or bad) will be appreciated.
Thanks
Take care
Andy

Andy,
We've had only rare posts on the forum about LPG conversion. Not exactly a hot topic as no one buys a Jaguar for fuel economy!
As I recall, those considering having their vehicle converted have always backed out after calculating the required mileage to recover the installation cost.

I have only ever seen one XJ advertised with an LPG conversion and the boot was 50-60% LPG fueltank.. I don't know, but for me yes I would love the economy of LPG *but* I know LPG conversions can cause engine issues and I personally would not risk it esp with the cost for it being per cylinder and we have V8's.. personally I would say try to keep the car as standard as poss as these cars have already bottomed out in value and are starting to go up :-)
