Smile newbie'n' sat nav

Hi to all jagsters in uk im about to enjoy x-type estateship and would like to fit satnav its 2006 sport so i think it deserves it anyone got ideas as to its possibilities cheers

First you need to find-out if jaguar list the sat-nav as an after sale upgrade for you model, if they did chances are that you have the wiring already in place,
you have to study the wiring diagram to see what modules you need to complete the installation.
I am pretty sure that apart from the dash unit there are other modules required.
On my car the Sat-Nav display is integrated with phone, climate control,radio, so it can get complicated.
You need to do your homework on the wiring, and then I would suggest ebay or a trip to the breakers to get all the parts.
I must tell you that in my opinion the factory sat-nav even with the latest disk is not that great, at its best about the same as a stand alone costing less than £100.
Having said that, it does complete the inside of the car and looks better than it works.
Hopefully you can link up with a member who has already upgraded his car.
